What about Griffin as our small forward?

It would be nice to pick up Lewis or Odom and if we can that would be great. But franlky I don't see that happening. Unless we are willing to give up Francis, Mobley or Griffin I don't see anything we have to offer that will get us one of those guys.

So what if we don't get one of those guys we let Griffin play the three. We let him play the three. The guy shoots lights out from the arc and he will get better.

Okay I know this is considered sacriligious by some. Many believe he belongs at the power spot because of his shotblocking skills. But with Yao there I think he could get of shot blocks from outside because of their fear to go up against the big man.

He needs to become a better dribbler but he said as much. And I have to believe he is working on that diligently this off season. He certainly would give Garnett fits. Yeah some quicker small forwards might ocassionally get around him but then they would have to contend with Yao.

I think he could play the 3, all he has to do is work on his quickness. That can be done easy by just doing jump rope and speed drills. Anyone can emprove on there ball handling trough practice. I think his best spot would be the 3 on this team. Plus with Mo Taylor Griffin could swich between SF and PF, like putting Griffin on PF for Defense and SF for Offense.

    C-Yao Ming
    PF-Mo Taylor
    SF-Eddie Griffin
    SG-Cuttino Mobley
    PG-Steve Francis

With an improved Griffin, Francis, Mobley and a healed Taylor I see us as a playoff team. And lets not forget Yao Ming who I think will put up Pau Gasol numbers his first year.

IMHO putting Griff at the Three only makes sense if we do not lose KT.

Giffin does not want to play the 3. Rudy does not want to play Griffin at the 3. It has been rumored that Griffin is bulking up this off season to becme a more legit NBA 4.

It would be easier for me to believe that KT is working on his 3 skills this summer. Rudy has said that he wants to experiment with KT at the 3 next year.

Everything I have read leads me to believe that Rudy wants Griffin to be their eventual Power Forward (and seems Griffin agrees). I get the sense that Griffin can turn into a Jermaine Oneal/Rasheed Wallace type of player. I am sure for spot duty that Griffin can fill in at the 3 but I think his handles really prevents him from taking up the 3 on a fulltime basis. Plus, and more importantly, Griffin's #1 facet of his game that he brings to the Rockets is his amazing shot blocking ability which, if he played the 3, would bring him AWAY from the basket and thus take AWAY opportunities for him to block shots close the the basket.

I think we should give Terrence Morris some more time to develop. I am not convinced he will eventually be the starter for the Rocekts at SF but when he got decent time on the court and got in the flow of the game he proved to be a decent rebounder at the 3 and also was a pretty decent passer. He never commanded the ball for shots but rather was a nice role player/utility player on the court to enhance everyone else on the court. Let's give him some time to see what he can do. HOPEFULLY instead of getting DWI tickets Morris can spend a little more time on the court this summer working on his jumpshot. If the guy could hit the 3 he would take away that SF from Rice in a heartbeat. To me that is the only thing keeping him back, his consistancy on the jumpshot.

But, with that said, we still should be on the lookout for an upgrade at the SF slot. ;)

There were quotes from both Griffin and the coaching staff saying he was a 3, but that's not where he played most of the time. When KT came back, he moved to the 3 and Griff stayed at the 4. I've always thought he was a 4 and hoped he could even grow into the center position (not anymore). I kind of thought it was a diplomatic move to portray him as a 3 last year, given that we already had Mo and KT. At any rate, if reports of him bulking up and working on low post moves are true, he's obviously working toward a power position.

Pretty sure it was a suspended license, not DWI.

I stand corrected....nevertheless...the sentiment is still there....work on those jumpshots! ;)
