He is supposed to finally be healed. I don't think the Magic would mind shipping him off for maybe Mo T, and a pick.

I would take a flyer on him, they have McGrady and Miller and may be willing to let G. Hill go.

I think he is EXACTLY the character guy that the Rockets would need. He could help mold the franchise, and teach Steve and Cat what it means to lead.

Plus, if he is fully healed, then he is one of the 4-5 best players in the game.

A healthy Hill would be an awesome aquisition for the short term.

    Mo T + Rice for Hill? :p

I have no faith in him being healthy though, and doubt he'll be the same player again. Getting up there in age too.

This is in the same line of thinking as getting Odom. But Odom has a smaller contract, Hill makes the MAX. Grant Hill will not have a season better than any of the ones he's had. He's said himself he's hesitating with his explosiveness. If his contract was smaller, I'd be all for it, but what about when Francis' contract kicks in, with Cato's, Rice's? KT will have an extension too if we ship Mo off.

All that is why Orlando wants him gone. Too big a risk. I hate to say it, but look what happened to Penny.

    Some people never learn.

First MoT goes down for the season. Then we make a lousy trade for a guy that was injured all last season in Rice, who was just as productive this season. Walt was up to his old ways again.

    Now ya'll want Hill.

I'd only consider a trade for Hill if Rice were part of it. I'm with Sane. I don't see any reason to assume that Hill will remain healthy.

I don't know if I'd do the Mo T & Rice deal either. Rice comes off the books in 2 seasons or less. Grant Hill is on contract for 4 more years I think.for the MAX allowable.

The Max is 15M I believe. Do you want to take a $15M chance when we can take a $3-4M chance?(Woods or Odom)

The Magic are not trading Hill.

    Especially NOT for Mo Taylor.

    End of story.

Only if they take our crippled players (Rice, Maurice, Walt) for Hill. That way we get rid of all our over the hill/damaged goods at the same time for just one set of damaged goods.

Its funny how all of you are talking about how this deal could be rejected by the Rockets. If CD called the Magic with this trade they would probably think it was a prank on a radio show.

As far as Hill making the max
After Odom negotiates he will be near the max
or getting it. . . remember HE WANTS THE MAX
which would be for longer than hill currently is

    I don't trust hill's health for anything

Then we make a lousy trade for a guy that was injured all last season in Rice

Rice played in 75 of 82 games in 2000-2001. Though he had his share of injuries, he did play 30 minutes a night for almost the entire season, and was productive while on the floor, especially in the postseason.

Grant is one of the reasons Duncan might go to Orlando. No Grant, no Duncan.

I read recently where the Doctors are saying that Hill is 100% completly recovered.

Wasn't he supposed to be 100% at the beginning of this past season?? If he were healthy, that would be one thing, but sorry, he's damaged goods and this team has enough problems to iron out.

Ok first, if Hill is 100 % then why didn't he play yestserday?

Next, "One of the five best" ?

Let's see: Oneal, Duncan, Mcgrady, Bryant, Wallace, Webber, Novitzki, Pierce.

    I think you get it...

Just because he's 100% healthy doesn't mean he's ready to play. He needs to condition himself, he's rusty as hell, and he would disrupt the teams current chemistry since they have played for 2 years without him.

Anything's possible you know. If you are the Magic, and you've got a guy making the max who already has missed 2 straight seasons and somebody offers you a Taylor, 2nd scoring option you need and who happens to be a PF and could replace H-Grant, a high draft pick, and Rice, who comes off the books sooner than Hill and can hit the 3, it doesn't seem so ludicrous. But I guess the fact that Taylor and Rice are coming off season ending injury years as well, this won't happen.
