A poster named "butch mccrae" referred to this this on the Snyder thread. A rumor from a Sixers fan who supposely has a buddy in the organization....

Korver and Jones would seem to make sesnse. Not sure if Les minds paying each of these guys... both make about 4 mil next season and would fit under the TE. Korver has 5 more years left on the deal and Jones has 3 more..

Korver is a SG right. If he is he'd be nice, he'd hit every open three pointer. Defense is suspect but from games I saw of Philly (not much) he isn't a liability.

I speculated about getting Damon Jones earlier in another thread ... good to see that my speculation wasn't altogether baseless. :) Cleveland would be willing to deal him especially now that they've got Wesley coming in, and he's been expendable for a while now.

OTOH, trading for Kyle Korver never once crossed my mind. Isn't he a SF? I guess we'll be playing a lot of small ball this season.

Korver is 6'6" but really seems longer than that IMO. Defensively, I don't think Korver can handle guarding NBA SG's full-time.

I would like to get Korver, but I hope we don't give up a lot for him, especially since we added Novak.

Say no to Jones. This guys is all style and no substance. He loves to get in front of cameras and talk and all he does is miss open shots.

I'd take Korver. He's got swingman size and he's got a real specialty. His contract isn't bad money wise, its just long.

Getting Korver would be a pleasant surprise.
At this point,Damon and Rafer seem a bit redundant, but Korver as a Rocket would rain J's.We DO need a backup point, but we REALLY need a PF.

I'm with you Jones is over-rated. Krover is like a poor man's Ray Allen...Ok maybe thats too far, how bout a poor man's Jeff Hornecek! :D

..if there is any truth to that, I like it. Korver is a very skilled 3 pt shooter, could provide quick offense off the bench. He has played 31 minutes per game for the past 2 years. I hope he wouldn't get that much playing time here, as he is a matador on defense, but I would like him as a scorer off the bench in limited minutes. With Korver and Novak as shooters of the bench, we would definitely have improved our ability to drain the 3 this offseason.

YES. Korver would fit in perfectly in Houston. He has size, length and works hard defensively. He'd nail about 45% of his 3s here in Houston, and he's a fine rebounder as well.

I'd much rather have Korver than Jones but I think Philly would be asking for a lot more than Cleveland.

I don't see why we would go for Korver when we got a cheaper alternative in Novak. Damon makes some more sense since we're still looking for a backup PG and he could probably get back to his Miami production, playing next to Yao and Mcgrady.

This would be the stupidest thing to come here. Korver and Jones are good shooters, but not efficiently productive in terms of shooting. Both are completely, entirely unathletic, no defense, and no all-around game. If this is the solution, this is simply a shame.

This is probably BS, so why am I complaining so much

Krover does sound nice. This sounds like it could happen.
Iggy needs more touches and they did draft carney, and they still at this point have Ai so that backcourt does seem abit crowded.

Imagine a second unit of House/Korver/Novak/Hayes/Juwan...Of course there would be no defense what so ever...but they can probably put up numbers!

I would like the opposite... Korver has consistently shot well from 3 pt range since he came into the league, while Jones had one good contract year and is a super cocky loudmouth.... "Best shooter in the world" my ass.

Now you are just fantasizing, right here. Fact is Iggy won't get more touches as long as AI remains there. Don't try to manuever ways into bringing any truth to this. It's unnecessary.

Might I add, we do have Steve Novak here.

I see some sense in DJ as we need a backup PG. However, I don't buy it at all. I think we'll have to see what Vassilis Spanoulis says first.

I'm quite confident that Kyle Korver stuff is BS, unsure about DJ, but I hope it is.

They can't put numbers up. House is a simple product of the Suns system. Korver, Novak need T-Mac and Yao to create some offense for them, Juwan is good by himself, infact. However, Hayes can't even score with Tracy and Yao, he doesn't score. He's not an effective scorer.

BTW, if that was our 2nd unit..i'd be very upset with the Rockets management.

The problem is who would Philly want? Korver's contract only fits Mutumbo, Sura, Snyder, Hayes, Head, Alston, and Bowen.

I don't get it... you're J.J. Reddick's biggest fan, yet you somehow don't like Kyle Korver...
