And was that the CC.NET crew doing the Put Hakeem in thing? Dream had a great game, Steve had a great game, the whole damn team had a good game. Was the crowd large? Wish I could have been there, Oh Well. ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
Best game this season imo. Even better than the triple overtime. I want Dream to come back! ------------------ Just four left.
According to the ESPN recap, it was sellout and very loud. I wish I could have been there..... if I didn't have to work, I guaruntee I would have been there... ------------------ President of the Anal Retentive School for Jerks Hey, I wanted to be president of something, and I swear everyone took every other presidential position already.
I'm glad I was there! It's a fabulous game! It brought tears to my eyes when people were chanting "We want Dream! We want Dream!" in the 4th quarter while Hakeem was on the bench. What could Rudy do? Dream was back on the court and contributed 4 more points. The fans also gave Hakeem like 3-4 standing ovations. Man! It's a beautiful day in Houston, Texas! And the crowd was so into it, from beginning to the end. Man! I wanna cry now! ------------------ They couldn't stop him in the early 90s; now they can't stop him in the 21st century -- Bill Worell on Phoenix defense on Hakeem
Oh! And Dan Langi's dunk at the end of the game was putting an exclaimation mark to a remarkable game and season. This white man really can jump! ------------------ They couldn't stop him in the early 90s; now they can't stop him in the 21st century -- Bill Worell on Phoenix defense on Hakeem
If this was Hakeem's last game as a Rocket, what a way to end it! ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org
What a great game. More info and photos to prove it are on the way. Clutch just has to make it safely back to Austin first! ------------------ And then, depression set in...
That was a great game and I had a great time! It was a pleasure getting to meet the folks I did meet! You know who you are! I regret not getting to see the Dr! I guess I'll make an appointment next time... The game was awesome, the chants, the noise, the fans... all made it worthwhile. If you missed us at Kenneally's, you missed some great pizza! I'll definately vote for Kennaelly's for the next get-together! Clutch, JB and Kagy couldn't be a nicer bunch of fellows...I look forward to more get togethers and possibly an Austin Rocketball thing or something.. Special thanks to HeyP for setting up and taking care of the pizza thing! YOU GUYS ROCK.. What a game and what an experience!!!!!!!! I wouldn't have missed it for the world and my "best seat award from HP" made it even better. I sure hope it was not Dream's last game as a Rocket but, if it is, I think we will remember it as long as he does. What a going away party. I could not believe at the end of the 3rd quarter I looked at the score board and we had already scored 95 points. I don't remember when we ever scored 95 points in 3 quarters. Wow. What a game. ------------------
Back at work here. It was a hell of a drive and I got absolutely no sleep and I might be a little hungover from celebrating - but it was so worth it! And not just because of the market value on my bobblehead Hakeem, either. We want Dream! We want Dream! Indeed. ------------------ I'm about to boldly go where many men have gone before.
"We Want Dream" was very touching! Damn, I was screaming my arse off! Geez How many ally-oops did Stevie get thrown?! Hell of a game! KG is scary lookin' in real life ain't he? The Rockets radio guy, Gene Peterson enjoys his gold. Gold glasses, gold rings, gold watch. See you guys next year! ------------------ "Thats, Stirfry, NOT stayfry"
Sounds like an unbelievable game! I'm living in NYC, so I couldn't even catch it on TV! Did anyone tape the game? Can I get a copy?!?!?I can send a tape! ------------------
HEAD, I was there and got to meet HeyPee and jamcracker. I couldn't make it to the pre-game gathering and completely forgot about the halftime thing until there was only about 1-2 minutes left till the 3rd. We'll hook up at a future game or hell, I'll take some of you chat fiends (no, I didn't mean "friends" ) out to lunch on a weekend I drop down to Houston. I'll be down there this weekend, if you're interested... are you scared of crawfish? Let me know : drofdunk@hotmail.com ------------------ Yugo grills, Yugo mills, Check out the oil my Yugo spills...
That was the best game of the season...and that really is saying a lot...since we have had some REALLY great games this season...and this one meant nothing as far as the standings go. It was a night I will remember forever. I would like to have a video of it to if anyone has recorded it and is willing to make copies. I would like to be able to re-live it again and gain. ------------------
Heypartna , Was that you acting all crazy at the gamE? There was somebody about two sections over towards the center from me , section 207. I was looking at the seating chart and that looks like you. Damn that guy was loud. Everyone was like " that guy has a set of lungs!" It was a great game. Loudest I have ever been too. Best game ever. Come Back Hakeem ------------------ Go Rockets!!! SS
I really wish I could've been there but it was still fun watching it here in MN. Especially with Jim Petersen finally giving the Rockets' their due. It was also a nice touch of the T-Wolves broadcasters to show highlights from Hakeem's early career and talk about everything he has done in b-ball and as a dignified person. Though I partially think it was just an excuse to get some shots of Jim Petersen playing in the old Rockets uniform. Pasting the T-Wolves didn't hurt either. ------------------
It was an amazing game, even on TV! Must have been awesome in person. I'm so glad that the crowd responded with such a great tribute to the classiest man to ever play the game. The Rockets must not let him leave to go play for another team!
You made it back by 3? I went out drinking with an old college buddy that I hadn't seen in months after the game. Left Houston around 2, made it halfway home before I was completely exhausted, slept for 2 hours in the car, woke up, and got back home around 7:30, just in time to shower and get to work. Sleep is overrated anyway. ------------------ I'm about to boldly go where many men have gone before.
Wink3Cat5, The loudest, craziest guy in the stadium is Section 208, around row F. The loudest pair of lungs could well be jamcracker. I'm convinced jamcracker and the guy across the aisle from us started the "We Want Dream" chant. They've done it before in our section. This time it swept through the stadium like The Wave within about 5 repeats.
D of D and Sam Cassell you must be commended for your show of loyalty to the Rocks and to Dream. Anyone that would drive from Dallas and back on a week day and then go to work the next day is a true fan. At least the game made it all worthwhile. ------------------
