Did you guy's see the last two games that Kwame Brown played in, he's been a beast down low in the blocks. Last night he had 20pts and 6blks, and the game before that he had 18rebs if he stay's healthy he could become the come back player of the year.Give Yao a year or two and I'll promise you'll be overwhelmed at the progress and strides that he will make.
Almost the wrong forum.....but I totally agree with you. Kwame Brown was dismal last season, however, if he continues to have these eye-popping, stat-filled games this season, people will have to change their minds about him. He looks really good; seems too good to be true for the Wiz. I think Yao's transition will come sooner than that, but I do think it will take at least 1/2 to 3/4 of the season before the Rockets really start seeing dividends. The NBA takes some time to getting used to. For some it takes longer than others. Rookies are fragile, and sooner or later, we'll be thanking our talent scouts because players like Ming and Brown have the abilities, and talent to be special players!
mac.c, you know that most of the posters on this board have no patience. I've seen too many of these guys expect Yao to come into a new culture, league, country, language, without rest and play well above average. Some even predicted dominance. It's gonna take time. I've tried to be REAL about the situation and state the obvious before but all I got was blind-optimism and Ming-hater type rebuttals. I was looking forward to the season to be able to let the actions speak for themselves but after the first game according to the majority of posters, Yao didn't produce because of everything under the sun other than the fact that Yao isn't quite ready and IT'S GONNA TAKE TIME!!!
I read where Drexler had like 7.7 pts a game as a rookie and he made the top 50... Give Yao Ming at least until January to catch up...
Exactly. So let's just sit back, relax, stop overanalyzing everything and try to just enjoy the ride. It may be a good one.
