Its been reported BY Doc and even CD in the Chronicle that we are looking for a 2 for 1 deal. My question is who are the 2 players we are most likely offering and what kind of value can we expect in return?

If DA or Spree come then Surely David Weslsey is on of the 2 right? If not when would Barry get his mins?

Wesley (exp), Sura, James (player option, exp), Norris (exp), Baker (exp), Ward (team option, exp) and/or draft picks

These would neither be for DA or Spree, they are both FA...

i would assume that since we are going to talk with finley, DA, and spree, that wesley is one of the guys who might get traded. I don't believe that it will be sura (for chemistry reasons) or james (CD said we can't get good value for him right now).

it looks like moochie and baker would be at the top of the list. i doubt very much that JVG would ever trade ward.

    with a roster of:

    yao-deke-baker
    stro-jho
    tmac-bowen
    LLE-JB-head
    sura-james-ward-moochie

the weakest link on the bench is bowen. I would assume that wesley and either baker or moochie would be traded for a 3.

but we should also remember that even though Doc said that's what they are looking for, it doesn't mean it will happen.

I'm still confused as to what exactly a 2 for 1 is. CD or someone cited the Mike James trade as an example, but that was trading Gaines (PG/SG?) plus picks for James (PG) and Zendon Hamilton. What makes a 2 for 1 a 2 for 1?

Probably a trade of two expiring contracts for a higher priced player with a multi-year deal. However, teams are probably not in the slash payroll mode right now, making such a deal not a priority for the other team. Teams are trying to sell tickets right now. This type of trade typically goes down during the February trade deadline, when several teams are out of the playoff hunt.

I know of one player---ONE player---that I'd trade expiring contracts and a couple of #1 picks for (our #1 picks are gonna be in the 20's anyway). Damn the salary cap.

Easy for me to say. What else? This player is on a team where they need to cut payroll because they're going to sell and move to (here's the giveaway to the pipe dream) Brooklyn.

Given our need for a point guard, I don't know who's out there in 2-for-1's, unless it's someone like Eric Snow (not a big splash, and maybe not on the block now).

Snow? LB supposedly, reportedly wants IT to see if he can be obtained for the Knixies. Three way - Sura/Ward - Snow; Snow/Mooch/Vin (latter back home again to daddy) - TThomas.

Doable? Doesn't matter, just the idea of Baker and Moochioe going back to isaih puts a smile on my face :D !

I'd rather have Vince than Kidd if they're cutting deep. Pipedreams all around.

Kidd is the most likely player to trade if things dont get of to a good start. He is getting towards the end of his carear and he has expressed interest in being traded here before. I dont think its as much of a pipe dream as people think.
