Chris Paul vs. Chauncey Billups. That's all I really care about this matchup.

    Who will win this series?

Nuggets will probably win, but it will be a tougher series than some expect cuz:
David West has come alive the past 2 games for the Hornets. If he can score some points, the Hornets have a shot. It will really come down to the Hornets, other wing players. If they can hit some threes to neutralize JR Smith, I can see this going 6-7 games. Otherwise, over in 5.

Nuggets in 5 and Melo finally gets out of the 1st round. If Denver doesn't win this series, there will be fur flying in the Mile High City.

I say Nuggets in 7. This will be a great series. Hornets get chandler back and that should help against Nene.

Hornets managed to split the season series without tyson chandler playing in any of the games for whatever reason...So they will finnaly have their full team and im gonna go with the hornets...cp3 will rape chancey billiups and i think posey can hold carmello down.. Hornets over THUGGETS in 6

If the Hornets have the team that they had last night on the floor against the Spurs, they will win this series. It will also be the only upset in the first round of the WC playoffs.

Do people here just not like the Nuggets? I can't understand why the poll is this close. Unless Billups & Melo crater, the Hornets don't have much of a chance. They aren't the kind of team that brings out the worst in opponents. Quite the opposite. Denver should be able to rack up as many points as they like and the Hornets won't be able to keep up.

A couple of reasons, I am guessing for this:

    1) Nuggets aren't known as one of the most sterling defensive teams around
    2) Hornets when healthy can play with anyone - that has been their problem, they haven't had their whole team for most of the season; they are like 19-6 when they start the lineup they started last night.
    3) George Karl is coaching the Nuggets
    4) The Nuggets have the Rockets problem - they haven't gotten out of the first round in such a long time, that many people are leery in picking them
    5) Did I say George Karl is coaching them? ;)

I'll take the Hornets in this series. Nothing against the Nuggets either but they honestly have to be one of the least scary #2 seeds I have ever seen. They've had a remarkable season, I just think they're vulnerable.

    1. Neither are the Hornets, who are also a soft team
    2. Maybe, maybe not. Every circumstance went right for the Hornets last year. It ain't happening this time around.
    3. IMO, George Karl is better than Byron Scott.
    4. True, but there is a first time for everything and this is it.
    5. See #3.

The Nuggets are definitely not scary and seem to be a weak #2 seed, which is why they are lucky to be playing a weaker, softer team like the Hornets.

The Hornets have the best player in the series, by far. That's one reason to give them a chance. Also, the Hornet's number one weakness is their lack of depth. But in the playoffs, your 7-10 players isn't near as important as in the regular season, because the teams usually only go 8 deep.

I'll give the Hornets a fighting chance, but, ultimately, Nuggets in 7.

Hornets in 6 or 7, if Tyson Chandler is playing decently at least.
