OKAY... i havent been around long, so i would really like to ask yall, to the ones that have more wisdom, who has been the better conference over the years.... Who has dominated more... I really like to know some of this stuff... It's real interesting.... Overall who has dominated more... And like dont base this on which conference has won more championships, or which conference has won more all star games... Which conference has been stronger in yall opinions...

Since i only seen little, I can only say the Western Conference...

Well teams have gone back and forth between conferences but I would have to say the East.

You have the Celtics/Knicks/76ers/Bulls there with the majority of championships. The only real dominant team from the west over the years is the Lakers.

Historically, I think it has been the East. And, I doubt the West as ever been dominant for as many years in a row as this current stretch. I can't imagine it will keep up much longer either.

So yeah, take the 60s Celtics out of the equation and it's about even.

East without a Doubt, but the present Dominance by the west is absolutely unheard of.

Even 13points and 10 rebs will get you into the All Star game as a Starter.

You can't deny the East the all-time advantage. Between the Bulls, Celtics and Pistons, the west isn't even close.

I'm really wondering when the East will catch up. I mean, although they get all the big draft picks, they don't go "big" like the West has done.

Just last year, the best rookies were all big players in the west, Yao, Amare, and Hilario.

That'll happen in the west, too. ;)

And has anyone else noticed that just about all of the good international players are on Western Conference teams? Am I the only one that finds this intriguing?

YEP thats why the west is so rad... Ehh.. but the eastern conference seems like DARKO MILICIC is going to be their best international player.. Truly he was my favorite player out of the draft.. .I would of taking him number one although i never seen him play..

I believe the Knicks have all of one championship...They've been a consistently good/decent(Think Suns) team, but definitely not dominant. Besides the MJ era, the Bulls were historically a pretty bad team, and the 76'ers haven't been a very good team since the 80's...So I'd say the two conferences are really quite equal.

even before the west's current dominance of the last 5 years, i would say they had been better the 5 years before that as well. i mean when we won our second title, the 3 best records were in the west and we won the title. while the conferences were pretty close, i think the bulls just made the east look good for that time while in reality the west was overall better. in the 90s, the west wins. before that, does anybody know how the conferences compared? we know titles won, but i'm talking overall depth.

What about the Celtics and the Pistons? The east has had plenty more championship teams than the west. All the west really has had over the years is the Lakers.

    What about 'em?

The Celtics and Lakers pretty much cancel each other out, and the Pistons have one only two championships, so take your pick...The Rockets, Spurs, and a few other teams could cancel them out.

But my point does not lie in team championship comparisons, or even in the number of championships per conference. I think that the two conferences have been quite equal in competitiveness(Though the West has definitely gained an upperhand the last few years). Sure the East has one more championships, but for every one of the Celtics championships, there was a very worthy West team that probably did not lose by much. The same can be said for the West and the Lakers championships(Besides those last 3...).

OH OF COURSE THE STRETCH WILL KEEP GOING... the East dont even have the big men to compete with the West... I say that the West will dominate more unless the SA decides to trade TD for someone in the East, Shaq signs with an East Team, Garnett signs with an East team... Is pretty much that everything has shifted to the west... So the west will be in control a couple of years more...
