Hey, anyone recommend a good place to eat in the Southwest Houston area? Also somewhere with relatively inexpensive prices or good value. Not Mexican food (had some for lunch) Thanks
Rattan Bistro (Eldridge and Briar Forest?) Sakura Japanese (529 at Barker Cypress) 713 Sushi Bar and Restaurant (Westchase area off of the Beltway) /thread
Rattan is not very good. I went there once when I still lived on the west side and was incredibly un-impressed. 713 has a decent happy hour atmosphere, but their sushi is below average and the service is awful. Unfortunately on the west side there are many restaurant options, but very few of them are any good. Hungary's is decent for Sunday brunch. Rioja has some great Spanish tapas and unbelievable deals at brunch. I also liked Lasagna House for some good italian. Cafe Taipei has the best Chinese food in the city IMO. And Pho One is a GREAT Vietnamese place that is perfect for a big bowl of Pho on a cool day.
Harrisment, I thought about you last night when my family ate at Cafe Taipei. My younger boy ordered chicken strips and fries...the fries were amazing!! Who knew?? Good food....I got sick later though...yikes.
Marine's(I'm unsure about the spelling) Its in the shopping center on the Southeast corner of Richmond and Hillcroft. Great empanadas!!!!
LOL, thats not good. I miss that place. I drove over there the other day to eat some tai pei, and of course to also spy on the people that bought my house and see what they've done with it.
I heard the lady who owns Taipei complaining to a patron that there is a Thai restaurant moving in right next door in the very same strip center.
