maybe im in the minority but im not concerned with other teams. im concerned with the rockets and the rockets only.

i dont care if the blazers whoop the spurs. will it make the rockets looks better, vicariously? possibly.

do i want blazers fans to feel absolutely horrible by way of spurs domination? to be honest, i dont care enough about the blazers to care how they feel.

the blazers beat us because we couldnt play defense and execute when we needed to. they moved on. we didnt. all i care about is how we CAN move on in the future, not how these other teams perform without us in the picture.

Yes, not out of antipathy for the Blazers, but for the stark contrast of two three things: 1. when the refs don't call breathing fouls on the Blazers, they are very mortal on offense; and 2. the Spurs play team basketball, moving on offense, setting screens, running pnr, and it utterly destroyed the Blazers. and 3. the coach makes the Spurs accountable on defense, once a fast break layup is allowed, a time out is immediately taken to slap some sense back into the team, the Spurs got a 20 point lead and never gave it up.

 

If we had half the movement on offense the Spurs have we'd be perennial champions. It's mind boggling what a difference a good coach makes.

In the regular season maybe, but in the playoffs it's all about matchups and a good coach will expose the opponents weaknesses, no matter who the stars are. You're telling me our best option was Harden going 1 on 1 with Matthews who had his number all series? And the only attempt to try to make the Blazers switch on defense is a little screen Harden would set for Lin at the top of the perimeter. That's playground offense, Pop would probably have puked had he seen that in the ****ing playoffs of the strongest league in the world.
The whole Rockets organization should have a screening of this Spurs game so they'd see what a real team looks like and how basketball was meant to be played.

 

I dont mind the Blazers honestly. The majority of their fan-base are very classy, great NBA fans. I remember the year Deke tore his ACL they all have him a standing ovation as he was carted off the floor. They knew a legend was leaving and they gave him the respect. Every Blazer fan I have come across has been a classy person, even when we beat them that season, nothing but praise.

The players and staff are top notch, and the Blazers are one of the more respected teams of mine. They played their hearts out and deserved the win.

This is exactly how I feel. They're great kids other than Mo Williams and that fan base only has the one team to root for.

I wouldn't be embarrassed if they got swept by the Spurs. These series' are about matchups and the Blazers match up batter against the Rockets than they do the Spurs. I think it would be a better series if the Rocket's were there for the same reason.

I wasn't upset, but it did confirm to me how a few defensive stops would have changed our series. I just wish we have a defensive/tough minded coach.

i am. but iam rooting for LMA to keep beasting. because if a superstar like Duncan couldn't contain LMA, people will knowledge that Asik is a legit defensive pf

Cant think of one coach in the playoffs that's worse - including Jason Kidd

 

While I think Asik is legit, I don't think Duncan is consider primetime these days.
