Looking back, Tmac being out definitely made us a more confident team.
This team, both as a whole and individually, is finally starting to develop an identity, which is essential for any good team.
During the early part of the season, the offense was good on paper, but it struggle with consistency. Defensively, well.....its not even worth mentioning.
Even though the Tmac and Yao were rolling, the others (except Bonzi) were still struggling to mesh with both of them and within each other. That showed once Tmac struggled two games before his elbow injury and afterwards. And Yao should'nt be blamed for the free fall either. The team lost accountability, which was a staple of JVG's philosophy. Yes, the offense was stale as a fat man's underwear under him, but everyone knew their responsibility: play hard-nosed defense and don't turn the ball over.
But as of lately, with the emergence of the Brooks and Landry (finally), we're starting to be more aggressive and being less dependent on Yao and Tmac.
I always thought that we should've played them some more, most importantly because Yao and Tmac were logging a lot of minutes early on.
As a result, we're starting to play a bit more aggressive on both sides of the ball, which is the necessary mentality to close out games.
Conclusion: the Rookies are the hear and soul of the team right now.
Sorry if that was tad long :) Just wanted to let that out
