Win or loss, I'm still gonna laugh in the face of all the pessimistic bandwagoners. Ugly....yes. But not one ounce of quit in this team, unlike some of the posters on the board.
Man, why can't the rockets play an entire game the way they did in the 3rd and 4th quarters? 2 losses that we dug a hole too deep to climb out of.
Anyone hear the "Houston sux" chant? The Spurs announcers were horrible and were more biased than the Bulls announcers. Of course, they were somewhat complementary on Stevie towards the end. BTW, Parker is pretty good.
Awesome comeback, but with a first half like that... It's good to see them playing like that, though. Just wish they wouldn't have pissed the first half away.
Great sign, Glen Rice is coming alive! 15 points for "G-Money". The Rocks played a horrible game and STILL almost rallied to beat the Spurs on their homecourt. If the Spurs fans think the Rockets suck, then their team will be road kill for the Lakers.
Oh c'mon. That first half was disgusting. Fewest points in the first half for the Rocks <b>ever</b>, according to Peterson. And just a few nights after the blowout in Denver....how can you not expect people to be down? The second half was great and did show that they had some fight left. But people had every right to be down after that first half. Maybe if that doesn't happen, this outcome is a little different...
Boy, am I glad that I watched the second half! After reading some of the posts here, I got the impression that watching the second half was an exercise in futility! ZRB and the other negative people: This is exactly what I'm talking about here. Reading some of those old posts now is funny. I would love to see you-all be Red Sox fans...now that WOULD be funny!
Probably the second best silver lining tonight, other than the wake-up in the fourth. Seeing Rice finally start to find a groove is very good to see.
I'm tempted to be consoled by the 4th quarter performance there, but after I spend a few minutes reflecting, I decide not to. Why? Any team good enough to make that kind of comeback has no excuse for needing to.
I think what we saw in the second half is what this team will do consistently if they can get their offense clicking. Hitting shots makes a world of difference... The first half we saw a team that was worse than last year's Bulls. The second half we saw a top 5 WC playoff team.
Hello???? The Rockets still lost the game! If they had come back to win, it would be a different story. The first half cost the Rockets this game. We have every right to speak of it negatively.
Well you could also say any team good enough to get up by 25 has no excuse for having to hold on in the end and that SA sucks. But that isn't true. Lets face it, if someone had said the Rockets lose by 4 tonight I doubt anyone would have said we were bad for doing that. We had a horrendous first half and evened it out in the second and it came out right around where it should have based on the relative quality of the two teams.
Actually, you could say that, if the Spurs had anything to do with their getting up by 25 points; granted, I didn't get to watch, but 24 points in the first half tells me they didn't. 9 points second quarter?! No excuse. I see no silver lining; I see one more point in the 'L' column, and very deservedly so.
The second half really was beautiful. You just had to see it. Unfortunately, it just wasn't as beautiful as the first half was ugly.
You're not a pessimistic bandwagoner if youthink youre team sucks for scoring 24 points, a club low, in the first half. Further, this team still has many worries. They have yet to string together 3 solid quarters. Their 5 wins come against teams who combined record right now is 13-23, their 3 losses come against team who's combined record is 16-7. I definitely don't consider myself a bandwagoner and I generally don't think I'm pessimistic. I am a realist and would like to see the Rockets improve in many areas. I expect them to win before every game, but am indeed worried about some of the problems they;ve had thus far into the season, and I think everyone else should be somewhat worried at this point as well. If they can put in 4 solid quarters on Thursday and win, as I expect them too, than I will be feeling much better.
