this was a new rule this year correct? players fined for obvious flops. do they not make this information public?
I didn't hear anything during the season about a player getting fined for flopping. I guess it was all a bluff by Stern.
i dont think so.. must of the people are always reading nba news..im pretty sure it wouldve been posted if someone did. but who knows not sure about it being a new rule but ive heard certain commentators and coaches say that it should be a rule to fine floppers. if thats the case pryzbilla should be fined millions
The only change was how they handle flopping. Essentially they would not call a foul at all and let them play, which has happened to some degree. I've seen many times when Scola falls to the floor without any whistle and the guy he's guarding just continues to the basket.
assuming they are/were including offensive flailing/i've been shot flopping its probably lucky otherwise wade would be bankrupt
maybe they have evidence all saved up and plan to fine the players during the summer where it wont interfere with players complaining and getting more fines
No. The extreme floppers in the league wouldn't have a paycheck if they did that. The threat of a fine was supposed to be a deterrent. When the players realized nobody was getting fined, they just kept doing what they had been doing. It was an empty threat by Stern meant to appease the fans, not stop flopping.
the nba and wow are closely related. stern aka 'the blues/devs' just throw stuff out to stop the qq'ing by the fanbase
how can anyone take stern and his cronies serious? they come out and publicly ban flopping, come up with consequences for flopping, threaten players with those consequences (fines and suspensions), and proceed to do nothing about it. what a joke. and flopping still impacts quite a few NBA games... negatively.
hah mikki moore pulled out 1 big baby pulled out 2 today. now how in the hell can that big ass guy be knocked over to someone 100 lbs less that him..
I think we the league needs to reinstate the ILLEGAL DEFENSE Rule as a solution to flopping. With the said rule, players can't cheat on defending and just lurk around waiting for a charge. Plus this would be beneficial for one dimensional players such as Chuck Hayes and Ryan Bowen. And this would lessen the stress on Yao Ming,,
So what ever happened to this rule? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3416579 I tried looking up results on Google, and don't think to this date that a player has ever been fined for this.
stern wouldn't want to hinder the chances for the clippers to make the playoffs by enforcing punishments for flops
