So says Pat Robertson... Pat Robertson predicts 'mass killing' VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in "mass killing" late in 2007. "I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network. "The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that." Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September. Robertson said God also told him that the U.S. only feigns friendship with Israel and that U.S. policies are pushing Israel toward "national suicide." Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli-controlled land to the Palestinians. The broadcaster predicted in January 2004 that President Bush would easily win re-election. Bush won 51 percent of the vote that fall, beating Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts. In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term. He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts. Lawmakers confirmed Bush's 2005 nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. But the president's Social Security initiative was stalled. "I have a relatively good track record," he said. "Sometimes I miss." In May, Robertson said God told him that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America's coastline in 2006. Even though the U.S. was not hit with a tsunami, Robertson on Tuesday cited last spring's heavy rains and flooding in New England as partly fulfilling the prediction. They're his projections so he gets to make the rules, I guess. It rained a lot so therefore his prediction of a tsunami was correct. What a moron...
Over the winter break, I hate to admit that i have watched the 700 club a few times. I can't believe half the crap i've seen. What really seems strange is when they are sitting around in their seats pretending that God is talking to them and saying something like....."There is someone who has very sharp neck pains, well God is healing you right now." It seems quite obvious that they are pulling this stuff out of their ass. The most disturbing thing i've witnessed on the show is how they point to alot of current events and say it is somehow an indication of the fulfillment of biblical prophecy and the coming of endtimes. That being said, I don't believe that these people are reflective of all Christians.
I think Pat Robertson and his friend Jerry Falwell is an idiot. Two people who are master manipulators of the very thing that they criticize so much (the media)
Well, looks like Preston27 only have a few months left to lose his virginity...anybody know any cool chicks that like to play D&D?
did he say nookular? apparently, so does the lord does Karl Rove know about this? i thought he always got the lord to time major terrorist attacks for election years.
We're all gonna die... sometime. That would have been a pretty accurate prediction. This fall the Astros will be fighting to get into the playoffs and the Texans will have us believing and the Rockets will be healthy. Those are my guesses.
Ya know, how is Patsama Bin Robertson's statement not a terrorist statement? He sounds just like a muslim extremist. If you or I said something similar, with the same confidence and public outreach, we'd get an unpleasant interview with the FBI. Or could it be that... B-Bob is just worried about living in a city?! About his sinful ways, and the end-times!
Lol! It's good to have B-Bob posting again. As for Robertson... It seems like a dangerous proposition -- if you do believe in God -- to tell people God told you the future. If you're not batting .1000, bad things can happen.
Hi Rim, Would you believe Gitmo? Or an undisclosed occupation? Actually it's a pedestrian job, but it's more intense, administrative, and social than a prof. gig, so I have tons of e-mail work in particular. The free-time posting just doesn't happen much, mainly b/c I run from computers and get fresh air at every opportunity. But I do check in the site and I do miss the gang here. I'll try to even make a Rockets post before I disappear again. Happy New Year to ever-buddy! And pardon the non-topical post.
Pat Robertson is an idiot. How Christian is it to say that all Muslims are bred to promote violence and do violent things, and nothing else? Yeah, that's really Christian of him. Also, I don't call 51% of the vote easily winning the election. Also, Pat, in case you don't pay attention to weather, we get hurricanes every year. They produce rain and flooding. It's a natural weather pattern. You're not a prophet because you predicted a hurricane season. Go back into your hole and talk to "God" some more, Pat. Just please, for the good of all us, lay off the drugs...or is that what helps you talk to God....
