After seeing bokis spl performance, i get to see these things... -skita scoring like crazy, 13 at lowest, and 26pts at highest while getting 8-12 boards per game -if thats not enough, i read in the newspaper today how he is the next dirk, except hes been playing 4 positions during the games including point... -Zarko cabara....(ask david stern how to say it) is also tearing it up in his rookie year, averaging 18-8 already -the guy we were thinking about taking over boki at num 15, Q. Woods, is averaging 30 pts and reminds many of pippen or tmac And boki was supposed to be more nba ready than all of these fools, and after that shooting clinic (what was it 34-35 or sumthin) at westside he airballs everything that hes not dribbling off his foot, and says hes not a shooter. i know all hope is not lost but still it seems like all the other teams guys are doin great!
Maybe not...perhaps the originator of that quote was talking about a different NBA, not the National Basketball Association. Just a thought. I wouldn't get too worked up over SPL results, as many have mentioned Langhi had a field day, as did Griffin.
Well, when we drafted Boki we were hearing that he could really shoot. Maybe they meant that he was NRA ready.
Get over the summer leauge. Find hobbies,or girls/guys. You people remind of my grandmother watching the news, then working herself into a frenzy about how she is doomed to contract west nile and lose her retirement fund.
It is obvious that Rox drafting department is good at top 1-3 picks but sucks for lower picks. We might be lucky to pick a Mobley, but it is not the norm. We suck at picking EG, Boki, or whatever lower first round and second round. Given this fact, my suggestion is for us to trade away any picks below #5 for veteran players. This way, at least we can get something out of it.
Yah we sure suck at picking up ppl with our lower picks, u know like Cassell, Cat, KT, Othella Harrington etc etc. There's good and bad, we probably done as well with the lower picks as any body. Anything after the top 5 is typically a crap shoot anyways. We've done as will as anybody with the picks we have had, we make some mistakes but trust me, drafting is one our least problems. And honestly sun, do you really think that a 2nd round pick usually makes the team?
I think we put too much emphasis on the summer leagues. Dan Langhi used to be lights out in the summe rleagues... never amounted to anything. Who knows???
Yeah guys like Kenny Thomas(#22), Othella Harrington(#31) and Sam Cassell(#23) were all horrible picks. How about you give guys like Griffin and Boki, who are 21 and 23, some time to develop before you say they suck, very few players in the NBA make immeadiate impacts. Yeah, Qyntel looked REAL good playing for the Blazers last year! So, just because Woods had the better summer league he's obviously the better player? Don't forget the real reason that Woods fell in the draft, his character issues, only a time like the Jailblazers would have taken him.
Agreed. Put 4 other NBA caliber players around Boki in the season, and I bet we see an improvement in his game. Playing with 4 scrubs on his team isn't going to make him any better. Granted, he is playing against scrubs, but basketball is a team game (contrary to poplular belief). As I have stated before, as long as he is rebounding, playing defense, and not getting hurt, I don't care what his summer league stats are.
1) Its summer league - all decent NBA players ball out of controll against crappy players who have no chance at making an NBA roster. 2) Woods was busted for weed just like EG so if you don't like Eeddie you can't fall in love w/ Woods. 3) Cuttino, Horry, Cassell, and Steve for a bag of beans 4) Every team screws up the draft. Every team passed on RLewis, Paul Pierce was the #10 pick, Shawn Bradely was the 2nd or 3rd overall pick, the list goes on and on. Boki at least had one break out game and works hard so hopefully all is not lost.
Quit complaining and RELAX. We are going to be fine. We have enough talent, just give this team a chance!
the goals are still 10ft. boki is not a shooter. period! he's a slasher get to the basket type of player. and until he learns to shoot the rock, he's better off shooting empty water cups into the trash can!
How many games have you seen this guy play? The truth is, Boki has a good shot mainly because of a smooth (and quick release). He needs time to develop. The guy hasn't had enough time to be judged yet. Wait until he gets rid of the butterflies in his stomach to judge him!
every game this past season, and judging from the SPL games(with exception of the last one) he has been nowhere close to the basket.
