    NBA league pass in Austin

I called Time Warner Austin the other day to order my league pass. As I was ordering, the lady told me that she thought some of the San Antonio AND Rockets games were going to be blacked out this season. She said she would check with the person in charge of League Pass, and then call me the following day. She called me back the next day and left a message on my machine saying that a majority of the Rockets games this season were subject to black out. A MAJORITY? I can understand the normal San Antonio blackouts, and the ones that are on national television, but I hope she didn't mean more than usual. Does anybody know anything about this? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we have many more games this year that are nationally televised. They better not piss me off again, this will be my 4th season to order it, and I have had serious problems with Time Warner and League pass in the past.

Hey outta-towners...if you want to watch preseason games on League Pass, you better call your cable provider and tell them to turn the League Pass channels on.

I called Austin Time Warner today, asked them to turn it on, and they would not. There are two games on league pass tonight; Cleveland at Det and Orlando at Dallas.

How does this affect the Rockets? they are usually on league pass once in the preseason.

here's last year's thread about Time Warner Austin's nba league pass preseason fiasco.

i live in austin and have had league pass for 4 or 5 years as well. the s.a. blackouts (when they play the rockets) have caused a lot of stress in my life over the years. i've called customer service at time warner, fox sports, etc. and literally yelled obscenities at some poor phonejockeys. this year i forked out the extra $2/mo. for the nba.tv channel when i saw how many rockets games were going to be shown there this year. last year (when nba.tv was not avail. on cable) the rockets games shown on nba.tv were "blacked out" on league pass. i hope this is what the service rep. was referrring to when they said "a majority" of the rox games were subject to blackouts. the rockets have 9 games on nba.tv, 4 games against the spurs, and 23 nationally televised games(tnt, espn, espn2, abc.) these will not be shown on league pass. that's almost half their total games. i hope this is what "majority" means. i hope this helps (for all of us in austin.)

excuse me. that's 25 nat'l. games (espn, espn2, tnt, abc), 9 on nba.tv, and 2 on telemundo. i believe all will be "blacked out" on league pass, but you will be able to view them in austin (or i'll have to call somebody and lose my mind again.;) )

They told me league pass coverage doesn't start until Oct. 29th, I didn't think league pass covers pre-season. Is anyone's NBATV out in Austin too? mine is all broken up.

well, TW austin has shown preseason games on league pass the last two years. They, as usual, don't have a clue.

upon further review: 2 of the 4 rockets/spurs games WILL be televised in austin (one is on TNT and one is on NBA.TV.) it is also likely that the rockets will be good enough for the Fox Sports Southwest channel to actually televise the other 2 here as well. the last few years those games were NOT picked up by FSSW b/c the rockets were...well...not really worth it.

I live in Maryland and i'm with Comcast. I get League Pass but no NBA TV.

It looks to me that the only Rockets games I won't get to watch are the ones on NBA TV since the rest are being shown nationally.

I'm dealing with the same BS. Here's what I have gathered:

There have been preseason games shown on Time Warner digital cable in earlier years, however, this year Time Warner will not be showing preseason games. These games are only available to satellite league pass customers or some other cable system (maybe someone with satelite league pass could verify this).

That might have been TW-Austin's bail out answer. I ain't buying it. I went though this exact same thing last year, and they eventually turned the channels on in mid-october.

They just dont know that NBA Preseason games are on League pass.

If the NBA TV channel shows that games are on League Pass, then the NBA LP channels should be turned on so we can see these games.
