I recently transfered to Omaha,Ne from H-Town and I must say it`s a culture shock. I work for the Union Pacific Railroad, and hopefully I will be back in Houston soon, because it`s very cold here Does anyone else live here that could give me a few hints on restaurants or cool places to go...I live in West Omaha. ------------------
What kind of work do you do (if I'm not being too invasive to your privacy...hehe)? ------------------ "Christ, it's not as if Steve pissed on a guy!!!!!" -- cson makes a return to my quotable sig as he comments on how Steve Francis should not be T'd up for slapping the backboard on a dunk...speak loudly cson, you rock!
Not at all........I coordinate the Union Pacifics Company Material. We have warehouses set up throughout the US and use the railraod to transport the material to the final destinations via our warehouses. I currently work at the UPRR company headquarters in beautiful downtown Omaha ------------------
I lived there for about 4 years. Omaha is a little old fashioned in a lot of ways, but there are some good things around. Give me a few hints on what kind of things you like and I'll offer up a few suggestions. ------------------ Added info: If you're looking for a decent variety of restaurants and shops try the Old Market area. Some "hip" places. Try a Runza for one of the most interesting fast food places (nothing like it anywhere else). and Valentinos has the best pizza buffet anywhere. I`m looking for some good places to eat and maybe a little night life action. I`ve been down to Old Market which is pretty cool, but I live in West Omaha {129nd and Maple} and thats quite a drive.........how long ago did you live her? ------------------
It's been about 5-6 years since I lived there. 129 and Maple, that's out by Tranquility park, right? Anyway, that is the other side of town, but it doesn't take that long to go around the city. I'd gladly drive 45 minutes for a good dinner. If you don't want to, just pick any steak restaurant and it'll be good. Omaha is steak town. Mister C's (I think that's what it was called) is incredible and it'a a little more centrally located. As for the nightlife, don't really remember. Wasn't my thing. I'm sure you can find a nightlife guide somewhere. ------------------
