http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2011/08/huntsman_comes_out_of_science_closet.php?ref=fpblg The former Governor of Utah is officially more scientifically oriented than the current Governor of Texas (and 95% of the Republican "base," I guess)
I've always said that for Huntsman to win in GOP politics, he must embrace the cap-and-trade idea that is trending among his Republican peers. Namely, cap sensible ideas, and trade blows with the President over anything. Sadly, in the latter his credibility is ruined, and in the former, he just seems to be too honest.
Nice how the b**** mom is trying to feed her kid questions to ask Parry. Guess no one wanted to interview her.
"How old is the earth?" and "Do you believe in evolution" are two of the dumbest pseudo intellectual questions ever.
Damn! Well at least he's a cranky old man. I'm down with a cranky old men. (actually I'm just trying to get Paul to split off and run as a third party candidate like a Libertarian Nader)
What is it with GOP politicians and science. I just saw something on the Final Word where they were talking about how Nixon created the EPA and George HW Bush passed the clean air act, but now all the GOP candidates are running against clean air, and the EPA. Republicans in general have changed. Ike and his Interstate system was a huge federal program. It did the nation a lot of good, but it wouldn't fly today with the Republicans we have in office now. Today's GOP would have hated Reagan's tax increases and never gone along with them. Add that to the changes mentioned above. The Republican party has changed greatly, and I can't say that I like any of those changes.
I expect he might pick off nearly as many Democrats as Republicans. I find him extremely charming, authentic and persuasive and agree with him on a lot of issues. I am, of course, a social libertarian. I think people should be able to do whatever the **** they want as long as they don't hurt anyone else. And I am pretty much all in with him on issues of war and peace. Of course I could never vote him though because he would eliminate pretty much all assistance for the needy and for the rest of us as well, going so far as to advocate for eliminating the Department of Education and getting out of the public school business. He has a lot of good stuff for people on both sides of the aisle. He has enough bad stuff for both sides that he could never be a serious contender. But he could sure be a serious spoiler. And he could instigate a very important, ongoing debate between the two major party candidates by challenging them both on the issues with which he disagrees. I believe he would do a better job of getting each of the other candidates to defend their opinions than any debate moderator ever could. I would love it if he ran as a third party candidate. Not because I necessarily think it helps Obama, but because his continued participation in the debate could make it a historic campaign.
[rquoter]I just happen to believe that the earth’s temperature has been moving up and down for milleniums now, and there are enough scientists out there that are skeptical about the reasons for it, and I happen to be one of those that are skeptical. For us to spend billions of dollars on a theory that is not proven and that you have skeptical scientists against, that is not in America’s best interest.”[/rquoter] Translation: 95% of scientists say that if we continue on our path we are making a grave mistake that will put our species in danger in the not too distant future, but because its not 100% we shouldn't worry about it.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesta...-blow-gaping-hold-in-global-warming-alarmism/ Global warming is a politically induced scam.
Yes, that proves Perry is an even bigger idiot than previously thought. http://content.usatoday.com/communi...elmingly-believe-in-man-made-climate-change/1 For him to sit there and act like it's a divided scientific community is ridiculous. It's unbelievable how stupid he is, and anyone is who thinks that someone with that attitude toward learning and science could help make this nation better.
