Weird Al is coming out with a new album September the 26th called "Straight Outta Lynwood". His lead track is going to be a pardoy of Chamillionaire's "Ridin' Dirty" called "White and Nerdy". Anyone else as pumped for the album as I am?
Chamillionaire?? Gawd, this might be the first Weird Al parody I listen to in which I haven't heard the original song.
I'm not a big fan of chamillionaire either, but I think it is cool that a houston artist is being parodied for the lead track. Also to be parodied on this CD (according to very strong rumors) are Usher, Green Day, and R. Kelly. By the way, the original lead was a parody of James Blunt's "You're beautiful" entitled "You're pitiful", which you can download on weirdal.com. A basic timeline of events is as follows: 1. Weird Al gets permission from James Blunt 2. Weird Al records the parody 3. Blunt's record label gets all uppity and threatens legal action if al releases it and turns a profit from it. 4. Al gives the record label a big "FU" and releases it online for free
People who knock Weird Al are probably the same people who think Blink 182 videos are actually funny. Or who have never heard of Leslie Neilson. Weird Al is The Man. BTW, I've never heard of Chamillionaire. Is he a rapper?
Yes, he's prob. the best local rapper from Houston at this point. You must obviously not be part of the Chamillitary. Weird Al rocks! I liked his version of Gangsta's Paradise.
More love for Weird Al here! Got on board when I was a kid with Amish Paradise ( performed it as a lip sync at a summer camp event thing ) but got his older albums and loved those too! Just tell me once again... who's Fat!
I saw Weird Al in concert back in 1992 (don't hate: the tickets were free), and I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to find that he puts on he heck of a live show. In fact, his concert is behind Pink Floyd (Momentary Lapse tour) and nin (downward spiral tour) as my favorite concerts ever. He puts a lot of effort into that silliness.
The only reason I know Chamillionaire is because he put out a remix of one of his songs with lyrics about the Astros during the playoffs last year.
