Weezer is releasing a deluxe reissue of Pinkerton and an album or rarities on Nov. 2nd. To coincide with it they are going on a tour where they will play 2 shows at each stop. The first night they will play the entire Blue Album and other hits and then the 2nd night they will play the entire Pinkerton album and other hits. Only 2 dates announced so far.

I thought Weezer broke up after anti-fans raised 10M dollars prompting the band to accept the money as a declaration of good faith that they will never release another album under their current trade name.

Thus, very confused reading this article you have posted above.

I'd pay to see them play 'Pinkerto'n and 'Blue Album'.

Would also pay to see this. I can't remember the last time Rivers even played anything on tour from the Blue Album?

I'd be down for this tour. Hope it comes to Houston. How sweet would it be if Matt Sharp joined back up?

I wonder if this tour is their way of finally admitting that their post-Pinkerton material blows chunks.. ;) (groogrux falls in a faint)

I'd be up for this...however they still plan on playing "other hits" after they play the albums. So if you thought you could avoid "Beverly Hills" by going to these shows you might be out of luck.

I saw them play in Dallas like 6 or 7 years ago... I think Maladroit was out. They played mostly Pinkerton & Blue songs. The first time they had done so in a long time. It was a big deal...

That's what I was thinking. Last time I saw them was the Foozer tour, and they played at least 3 songs off it, including bring a kid up from the audience to play guitar with them on Sweater Song (knowing that the audience would have plenty that knew how to play their stuff - cool move).

It strikes me that a lot of bands are doing this with their shows at the moment - Springsteen was playing entire albums (rotating through) on his last tour, Waters is doing the Wall on his current tour, etc.

I'd much rather see a Pinkerton show. They could play both albums in one set, though. Wouldn't even need two hours.

I like that they aren't just pulling stuff from old sessions for a cheap buck - pretty cool that they tweaked, retooled, or overhauled the old songs and recorded them fresh. I'm interested to hear some of these songs.

While they lost me for a stretch of albums, I did enjoy the Red album somewhat. Greatest Man was nothing short of genius.

I'm not so sure that was a good idea. Especially if they are applying their post Maladroit essence to these songs.

Here are two of the songs from the upcoming album and also Tragic Girl from Pinkerton [Deluxe Edition] that I posted above:

    http://www.somekindofawesome.com/jo...-girl-x-auto-pilot-x-odd-couple-previous.html

Listening to the 2 reworked tracks and comparing them to the one from the Pinkerton era is just frustrating, there's just no mistaking the difference.
