Shaquille O'Neal is currently in China for 5 days on a promotional roadshow for his endorser Li Ning.....

He will visit 3 cities of China (Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou) to attend 3 Vs 3 tournaments organized by Li Ning& Co. and to hand pick the next "Shaq" from China, whenupon the lucky basketballer will have chance to be sent over to USA to recieve basketball fundamental training by Shaquille O'Neal.

Upon his first day of arrival into Beijing, he had the following to say about Yao Ming.

Wish I could have more time now. But really have to go out for some important matters for the next 5 hours....

    MORE coverage will follow.

An exclusive interview from Shaq who claims he is still the most dominant centre in NBA, and if Yao Ming has to beat him, Big Yao needs to have 5 rings over his 4.

And more photos of him being appointed the "General" (or Shogun), and his sightseeing tour of the Forbidden City.

    STAY TUNE.

    Congratulation Yao :)
Anyway, I just hope that basketball fundamental training by Shaq does not include free throw shooting. :D

Pruyen, when you get back can you explain to me why Yao has three ceremonies? Is it a Chinese tradition or is it just with him?

Yao celebrates his wedding with 3 groups of people, 1. his relatives, 2. his CNT teammates and CBA officials, 3. his Rockets teammates and colleagues. Considering that his home town is Shanghai, his CNT teammates are trainging in Beijing and his Rockets colleagues are in Houston, it is understandable. This is definitely not Chinese customs (I mean multiple ceremonies), so don't worry, pick up your phone and go date that Chinese girl. ;)

Is that really that far fetched? Besides when Yao first got here, these two guys get along very well. Each has the ultimate respect for each other. If there was one player outside of the Rockets that'll get a invitations, Shaq could be one.

I think Yao would if he invite anybody outside of Houston Rockets.

My company has an office in Beijing that is four blocks away from the Forbidden City. I hope I get to visit someday (though I hear Hong Kong is much nicer. We have an office there, too).
