Folks, Looking at the Kings-Lakers games, one thing that immediately comes to my mind is that Rick Adelman is terrible when coaching against the Lakers. He may be a good coach otherwise, but I think against BIG MEN, RudyT should be your coach of choice. I feel that had Rudy coached the Kings, they would have done a much better job on defense, offensive spacing and double teaming. Since Shaq is going to be the man to beat this year and for years to come, I think of only a few coaches who can do this job, namely, Rudy, Riley and perhaps Larry Brown. On to Webber, the last time the Rockets played the Lakers in the Playoff's, Charles Barkley punished them for not having a good PF. Today, they still have a mediocre PF in the form of Horace Grant, and it amazes me that both Rasheed Wallace, and now Webber, have chosen to ignore that advantage and have taken to becoming jump-shooting PFs. In both cases, I don't know who to blame, the coaches or the players, but what I do know, had Rudy been the coach, he would have milked that situation for all its worth. I also echo the sentiment in another thread, that is this the Webber we want? A Webber that cannot take it inside and demand the ball on the low post? If we want a jump-shooting PF who occasionally takes it inside...we have one and he is younger -Mo Taylor. -Tariq ------------------
Adelman is a great offensive mind but has no Defensive coaching abilities , He has been acused of not teaching fundamentals . And all the Kings can do is sit their while Shaq cleans the glass all night , It wont surprise me if they get swept . ------------------ "Sir Cumference is not a horse ,Its what the TNT crew calls Charles Barkley" - Bud Geracie , San Jose Mercury
Tariq- Mo T should be much farther along than C-webb. Why you ask? Because C-webb always plays a longer season than Mo. Mo like the rest of us on this board has no playoff experience. He has a much longer off season to rest and prep for the next year. Also did you not watch Webber in game 1. He played well there. But I guess the way Mo T has dominated the league, led his teams to the playoffs, and with all his All-Star appearances that we should feel priveleged. Bottom Line is Mo is an average PF. Above average offensively, below average defensively and horrible rebounding. If you think we can win with Mo T as the starting PF, then I won't say you're wrong but I will say i disaggree. There are too many good PFs in the West to be able to compete with an average PF. The exception is the Lakers and they have the best Big man in the game on their team along with another top 10 player in Kobe.
1)C Webb is obviously WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than Mo is, or will be. B) Is it Adeleman's fault or Shaq Fu's? 3) Rudy is a better coach of the bigguns. ------------------ C-son --------------------- Dream on
