supposedly offered to the knicks. 76'ers want more than q-rich and taylor, which is what isiah offered. we must wait and see. Maybe rockets could punk isiah somehow in a 3 team. doesn't this board like Lee.
Looks like good trading partners. The Knicks have plenty of horrible contracts to offer for Webber's horrible contract.
I like Lee. I like punking Zeke. How can Rox punk NYK with Webbers fat contract and aged knee involved?
Would be an interesting trade. Knicks take on all of Webber's deal so to lose some big salary quicker (ends after next season), and the Sixers get rid of Webber and split his contract in half (one ending after this season (Taylor) and a longer deal (QRich)). But, how the hell should the Sixers ask for more? They should be happy to get anything at all for Webber and his $20+ mill. a year contract. Also, how many wing-players do the Sixers need? I have a hard time believeing this deal would actually go through, but interesting none the less.
Dumping Webber for Q and Motay? The Sixers should jump on that. Getting rid of Webber's contract would almost be like getting out of (salary cap) prison. Plus, they get a decent player in Q.
another "the problem isn't AI; it's his teammates" move if it happens. when will they learn that it's time to deal Iverson even if it's pennies on the dollar?
i know Cwebb is extremely pricey, but he's still a pretty good, crafty player. isn't he still around 20/10 when healthy?
http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/steph__isiah_will_thrive_amid_heat_knicks_marc_berman.htm While the Sixers vied for a sign-and-trade for Jeffries, Philly weeks ago approached the Knicks, asking Thomas to make an offer for rejuvenated Chris Webber. A source said Thomas has been discouraged by Dolan to add significantly to the payroll after the Jeffries' splurge ($30 million, $30M luxury tax). Hence, his offer was weak - Richardson ($32M, uninsured), Maurice Taylor's expiring pact and Malik Rose in one scenario for Webber and another player, a package that would not increase the Knick payroll. Obviously, the Sixers passed. But watch out at the trade deadline if the Knicks are in contention and Dolan reopens the vault.
You guys know in 2 years Webbers massive contract will expier.in his last season he'll have a massive 27 million years comeoff the books. why take on richardson 5 year contract on?....
hahahaha! well honestly it's a good move for the knicks. mo's contract ends next summer, while webbers ends the summer after that. it's not a huge deal to spend the money on an extra year when you give up qrich and his multi-year, over-spriced deal. not to mention the talent upgrade. mo does nothing for the knicks and qrich will not see any PT this year anyway. sure webber will miss games due to injury but still, the deal is in the knicks favor right now. i can see why the 6ers want more in return. they probably want lee to fill in at PF. the knicks love lee and won't give him up so maybe if they throw in a future second rounder or two it gets done.
The Knicks? In contention? For what? (And besides, isn't the Post considered a piece of crap source?)
Webber's contract will start looking pretty good to someone around the '08 Allstar break, its bound to have the most value then, possibly going to someone like Seattle for R.Lewis and someone else. Wonder if King will even be around by then.
