http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2001/0717/1227350.html Doesn't even mention the Rockets as having interest. Aldridge reported earlier today that it was down to Sac and Indy, Now with Sac possibly out of the picture and Indy having to give up half their team to come to terms on a sign-and-trade, who does that leave as the frontrunner? ------------------ The title will come to ClutchCity once again.
The more Webber delays/changes a decision, the more grateful I am the Nets giftwrapped Griffin to the Rockets causing them to chase their own free agents instead. If not for that, the Rocks and fans would be going nuts waiting on this guy to make a decision. He seems to have no clue as to what he really wants to do. I'd hate being in line behind this guy at Baskin-Robbins. Just pick a team CWebb! Funny thing is the more he waits, the more teams are forced to shut their doors on him and go elsewhere for heip. Maybe that's his plan---eventually he won't have to choose. ------------------
That would be worse, there are only 29 teams, Baskin Robbins has 32 flavors. Actually Indiana has said they will wait on hands and knees for him. I am sure Sac and Detroit will as well. ------------------ The title will come to ClutchCity once again.
That's true, those 3 teams will wait but if Indiana is his choice, the only hard part is the sign and trade. Sac and Det are simple signings. He should know by now which of the three teams he'd rather play for. It seems more like neither of the three is his FIRST choice. Either he's like a woman who can't decide what to wear to a party or he's trying to figure out which of those three will make him the least unhappy. If I'm one of those three and I get him,I'm glad but I'd also have the feeling that he picked me but he wished he could've done better. ------------------
This whole thing seems orchestrated. I remember when the Kings were bounced from the playoffs and Jalen Rose mentioning as a guest host on TNT that he had talked to Chris and felt he would stay in Sac; and me thinking, yeah, right. One week later, Indiana gets a prominent mention as Webber's possible destination. That was awhile ago, but now, I can't help but think this bit with Indiana wasn't orchestrated. Why would Isiah Thomas wait until JUST NOW to visit with Chris and his family? Jalen, Isiah, in a city maybe one hour by plane from home? Sounds like a good fit (despite the lack of soul food). We know Detroit is out; living near your close relatives and friends can be nice, but it can be distracting, too. Inevitably you get caught in the middle of family B.S. Anyway, we'll see what happens. ------------------
I think he wants Indy but a sign and trade will have to involve O'Neal at this point which is not an option. If nothing is hammered out he will return to Sactown...reluctantly. Going back to Sactown isn't really that bad (besides the town of course). The Kings just need another center to contend with the Lakers in the West. They have Bibby now who is a big improvement at PG. It won't be as exciting but definitely more controlled. ------------------
Actually Zeke is from Chicago, so I doubt he still has a connection with Detroit any more. The thing I hate is that the frontrunner is the frontrunner for one week, and then its like they are on the bottom of his list the next week. What ever happened to NY? ------------------ The title will come to ClutchCity once again.
