Did you guys see espn show Webber eavesdropping on the rockets, the timeout before Webber hit the 3 to send it to overtime. Isn't there a rule against that? That is just so wrong.
i saw it. if you watched teh espn broadcast, you saw it too. He was grinning after it. Freaking loser.
First of all, I think this happened in OT. Secondly, it wasn't a timeout or Cwebb wouldn't have been allowed to do it. The rockets were holding a team meeting before the kings were to shoot freethrows. In that situation, cwebb can stand where he wants. Usually Keith Jones tries to keep the other players from hearing.
It wasn't that timeout. He was eavesdropping during a timeout late in the overtime. It really didn't matter.
It's not the first time he's done it, and it's still pretty damn weak. That's why you don't see any other ever doing that.
well, i give credit for webber making that 3, but the thing that bothers me is that they prolly didn't plan for that strat in the beginning. webber prolly realized that rockets weren't fouling so he figured he had time to fake and shooot.
It wasn't a timeout, it was perfectly legal, and was a very smart play by Webber. As a high school basketball player, if i ever saw the other team huddled like that in that situation, not only would I eavesdrop, I'd walk right into the huddle and start singing. But seriously, he had just as much right to hear JVG as the Rockets players did.
DOesn't matter, we had the game won and we did not win it. i can take a loss, if the other team actually beats you, but when you beat yourself.....GOD I hate that!
It's not like it lost us the game, but are you guys mad or something? What he did was totally legal and it's the Rockets fault for not stopping him.
Oddly enough though, Webb for three tends to be our bread & butter game-winning/tying play... don't especially like it, but he's hit at least two that I can recall this year (and missed another). *shrug*
the rockets had 1 minute to replace wesley since he fouled out... so while the huddled, it technically was not a timeout and so opposite players are allowed to stand anywhere on the court.
Also, while you're complainng about what Webber did, kings fans could easily complain about us having a huddle on the sidelines without a timeout. All's fair...
KK - Sorry, but you're wrong on this one. The "huddle" took place after Wesley had just fouled out. I don't know if it's 30 or 60 seconds but the Rockets had a rules defined amount of time to replace Wesley. NBA teams frequently use this time to strategy under the guise of figuring out which player is going to replace the player who just fouled out.
I completely understand that. My point is, theres no difference in b****ing about either situation, because they're technically legal. They could say that JVG drawing up plays when he's supposed to be replacing a player, is 'wrong' or 'weak'. It's just whining over nothing. Cohen: A player has already done it to us this year, and it's not uncommon at all.
good post. If the Rockets dont send someone over to keep him away its their fault not his. Besides i dont think it really had a difference on the game.
Sorry, I just re-read your original post. I must have been in a foul mood after the loss and not read with good comprehension. Neither is illegal and neither had any consequence in the outcome.
