I just bought an Intel Deluxe PC Camera and don't know how to use the damn thing...the software bundle and drivers that came along with the camera don't work because its not for my OS (windows 2000). I downloaded the drivers for win 2k already but I couldn't get the net meeting to work right with it...I can see myself on the video with no connection, but when I connect with somebody, they couldn't see me at all...I'm behind a router, which complicates things a bit...do you guys know what software is really good besides netmeeting?
ChenZhen, your router is a NAT, which means people outside your network will not be able to connect to your computer's real IP address. What kind of router do you have? Setup your router, so that it sets your internal IP address as a DMZ zone. If you have the linksys router, the DMZ option is under advance, then just enter in your internal IP address. You probably will need to set static IPs to your computer, ie 192.168.1.100. That way your friend can get connected to you using your real IP address. I had the same problem where I couldnt connect to my friend, but she lives in an apartment using a NAT, and does not have access to the router's settings http://www.dalantech.com offers everything you ever wanted to know about firewalls, NATs, PAT's, and more.
