I remember someone posting one up called brute. Tried that for a while but it wasn't my style. I found one though, that I do like. I'll put up a description and if you like you can try it out. Basically, you play as a citizen of a town set in the 'wild wild west'. 4 different 'character classes' to choose from. You have your workers who are the best at building up your town, adventurers who can make money the fastest (in which to build up town funding), duelers and soldiers who are the best at fighting, both fighting other towns and protecting your own town. Now the big play is to build up your town fast either by building or adding funds. (adding funds by adventures or dueling) Then to take over the forts in which there is constant fighting. Every time you do an action (building, adventures or dueling) you get experience and cash. (cash to buy new gear or build) Every time you level up, you pick certain areas to raise. (something I didn't like about brute where everything is randomized) What ever stats you choose determines how well of an adventurer or fighter you become. So you can become a mix fighter and adventurer or a straight up pure fighter. Gameplay works by working 'jobs' for a certain period of time. You can do something for an amount of time up to two hours and then get rewarded based on your stats you chose and how long you worked. To make sure players don't get over powered too quickly though, your given energy points so just like in real life, you need to sleep to get your energy points back (coffee.....no). The importance of raising your town level via building and funds is getting new and better gear so money makers and builders are all needed and important. Fun game over all. If any of you decide to try it out, go to world 9 first (newest world) and in game email me at joesr. The West PS. Could really use some fighters and adventurers (money makers)
There are plenty of these types of games on the internet. Personally, I don't like them, but many people do!
Believe me I know. Been through so many and only kept up with a couple. Been up with the paying monthly MMO's (from UO to WoW) to the free web browsing ones. The company that made this particular one made a strategy one I really liked called Tribal Wars so I decided to give this one a shot and I liked it.
email in game or just give me you game name here and I'll send the invite nice things about being in the town is use of hotel to get your energy back faster. play with the tutorial too, to get a hand of questing to get exp faster.
Yeah I used to play that on myspace but then myspace got laggy its aieght I like role playing games and strategy games. I really like the games that let you customize your characters which is why for a web browser game I like The West. inviting right now
You have a little traveling to do. Just do jobs and quest heading in our direction (you need to head north west).
If you go to rankings, city rankings then type 3Kingdoms then the little cross hairs button next to the city name it will show location. give me your name and I'll invite (i have 4 more invites left before having to build another residents level). then you will have a town button to show you where
i think I tried that, very similar to travian, tribal wars and evony and a few others I forget the name to. civilization, aaaah
I used to play that too, but then I paused it and havent checked it in about a year. I kinda wanna go back and see what I have, but then I might start wasting time on it again.
Kingdom of Loathing is like some of those except it doesn't suck. Seriously. There's actually something more there. www.kingdomofloathing.com Their podcast is great too.
Wow perfect timing on this thread.. I just started researching whats the best web browsing MMO out there. So far I'm just trying out Evony.. Very slow in comparison to Warcraft or Starcraft but I'm at work and can't play minutes straight. So building up slow isn't that bad. But is the once you suggested better? What are the Pros vs Cons compared to Evony?
Honestly if you are gonna play a web strategy game, I would suggest Tribal Wars. The details of that game is over whelming and while not the best graphics compared to these newer ones the deep strategy used is just way better. In fact I was playing Evony and a couple others to try to find a replacement for TW but couldnt do it and came back to TW. Now I am slowly quitting TW having fun with The West. I like the whole build up your town, getting better gear and making the right alliances to take over forts from other strong towns and their alliance. A lot of team work in making money for the towns and builders and builders increasing towns level therefore increasing the items you can buy to increase your stats. I will go a bit more into detail. You have several buildings to improve. Each having its own benefits. For instance, the General Store, Tailor and Gunsmith all have equipment to better your own stats either for jobs or fighting. (which by the way we some fighters or adventurers). Improving Hotels allow you to recover more energy when you rest for the night. Few others. You can customize your player the way you want. A pure fighter, where all your skills from leveling and equipment got to skills that improve fighting. You can become a pure fort fighter (2 different fighters to end game with). Or you can just mix skills to play out the way you play the game. I ended up liking it enough to make players on a couple other worlds (try 9 first where I own a town and could jump start you with a decent hotel and friends). If you guys join email me, let me know what kinda player you want to make and I give you a good run down on what skills you need to level to become the best.
Got a couple of you to try it out. Hope you guys like it! Could always use the extra help taking stuff over.
