Hey, I'm in STL, and its raining dogs here (ugly ones). I remember them saying last night that rain was expected for today in Chicago, and they were "hoping" to play. Why can't more teams have roofs?
It doesn't look good on the North Side, there's rain all over the area today. http://www.weather.com/weather/local/60701?par=espn&site=www.msn.espn.go.com&promo=0
yeah, sorry for the confusion...I wasn't worried about the STL game, I'm worried about Hou. I was just pointing out that STL and Chicago aren't that far, and if its raining here...its a good chance it'll rain in Chicago. If Houston has to play a day-night twinbill tommorow, will W. Miller still be on the ESPN game at 1? It would give our bullpen more chances for rest if Miller pitched instead of Munro. Maybe they'll get the game in by tonight...ah well.
Right. He said he hopes the Cards have to play a twinbill with the Bucs. Since there's no mention of the weather in Pittsburgh, only St. Louis, I assumed that he believes that the series is being held in St. Louis.
Ah, yes. I missed the critical "in" in your post. 5-0 good guys in the 4th, though the Cubbies are threatening.
5 complete innings need to be played for it to be an official game. Anything less and they have to play it again.
So if some team is winning 40-0, do they start again from scratch? I'm new to these rules. I'm used to a roof.
Crap...Astros up 5-1 after 4 1/2 innings & the ground crew unrolls the tarp despite the fact it's not raining that hard according to Ash. Hopefully they can get the game back on later. edit: now it's "raining buckets" ... good call by the groundcrew to get the tarp out early. Sucks for Munro, he was pitching a good one & won't be able to get the win. The 'Stros bullpen has been working alot recently, hopefully Miller can go 7-8 strong innings tomorrow.
Stupid baseball rules. Thanks for the answer. I'm too used to Minute Maid and the Astrodome, so I didn't know for sure. Stupid Wrigley..
Rules is rules. Gotta have rules. Without rules there is chaos. Dogs & cats living together, that sort of thing.
I don't care. What's wrong with dogs and cats anyway? I'm just overreacting a bit. I would think there would be a better solution, though I doubt that. Baseball's been around for a while, and I think they would have made it better if they could.
While the rule techincally says they would start over, these guys will try their hardest to get that last half inning in. They don't like having to start-over games. So, unless its going to rain non-stop from now till 10 pm, they will find a half-hour window to play baseball and finish this one up.
