Is there a more annoying <s>fad</s> way to wear a hat? Let's take the hat, made to block sunlight out of your eyes, and just wear it backwards, rendering it useless. Not to mention it looks pretty stupid.

Huh? If you have a fitted cap, there's nothing wrong with wearing it backwards. I wear my '95 Astros hat backwards reguarly -> usually when I'm hungover on Sunday morning heading to brunch and don't want to fix up my hair.

"Fad?" lol What are you, 60? People have been doing that for 20+ years. That's like calling rap or computers a "fad."

Yeah, it's unattractive, but it's been around for awhile.

Thats exactly why I do it. I don't want to be a redneck. The only other option is wearing those hats from the eighties with the fabric in the back.

    Fair enough if you're outside.

Haha okay maybe it's not a fad, but I still hate it.

A lot of people wear hats without regard for their ability to block sunlight. Are you against those people wearing hats too?

So pretty much you believe that hats shouldnt be worn indoors...like at a sporting event.

No. I wear hats indoors sometimes. The baseball hat is part of fashion, so yeah the sun blocking part doesn't really mean as much, but still why wear it backwards?

I think you answered your own question:

    "[It] is part of fashion."

It's just a purely stylistic fashion choice. I imagine people who wear them backwards saw someone once who was wearing their hat backward and thought, "That looks good. Maybe I'll try that out." I sometimes wear my hats backwards, and that's probably why I ended up doing it. I really have no better reason for wearing it backwards than for wearing it forwards (taking sun protection out of the equation).

I wear one when I don't feel like combing my hair. I hardly wear it backwards, though.

Almost as douchey as the guy who curls the front of his hat up into a taco...

Tilted baseball caps (the brim to the side, 45 degree angle, etc).

You're either 15 or wearing an Ed Hardy shirt.
