What the ****? Come on guys and gals have some faith, we'll bounce back or $100 to the tip jar from me. Who'll match?
God... If you're out there... Please stop letting there be new threads every time people think thoughts... Don't get me wrong OP, I love the optimism, but please abstain from clogging up the GARM with a new thread unless it contains some unique or well thought out substance.
I don’t think it matters. What did winning 65 do for us last year? We can beat any team. We’ve got some things to figure out, but all that matters is we are 7 or better to avoid a first round matchup with GSW. That’s ALL that matters in terms of record.
Would it really be so bad to face GS in 1st round? 1) gonna have to face em eventually. 2) they like to rest stars in 1st rd (aka fake injuries) 3) get the worst over with early.
@el gnomo @Daddy Long Legs @kevC Easy money to be had here. This is a bet even mathrocker can’t lose.
Def will not be joining you in that bet. Still believe this team can go all the way if things break right for them but 65 wins last season was just an insane achievement. In this conference, getting to 55 wins in order to have homecourt is pretty damn good. First things first though ... they need to get above .500 and fix their broken defense before Thanksgiving or their season will likely be damaged beyond repair.
Not feeling this. 50 wins will be a huge achievement at the current rate. 60 wins has only been done by select teams in NBA history. Last year may have made it seem easy. But your team has to know their roles and run like a machine.
I had the Rockets at 67 or 68 wins......but that was before I found out Bzdelik was retiring and this “Freedom of Movement” rule was being implemented. Both are killing the Rockets right now. Undersized players like CP3 and Tucker who could man handle players out of position in the past have allow them to get prime position near the rim. These players, Melo included, don’t jump well enough to be rim protectors after allowing players to get prime territory.......help defenders need to help more by collapsing around them; which leaves 3-pt shooters open. I believe the Rockets will trade for Jimmy Butler when Chriss and B Knight are eligible for trade Oct 31st and the Rockets turn this season around for the better. We lose Eric Gordon in the process; but his numbers on offense and defense have been very bad to start the season while Gerald Green numbers have been a pleasant surprise on both offense and defense. Rockets will need to switch the switching defense. Mix it up during game time action. Butler trade kicks Capela energy up, Butler brings elements to offense which are much needed, MCW gets bumped from rotation, Hartenstein develops, Ennis gets use to our system, Harden gets healthy, CP3 returns from suspension, refs cool their whistles, Rockets realize the “Freedom of Movement” rule brings back the post up play and they get Melo more in the post. I will adjust to 61 wins. Lose only 17 games the rest of the season. It will be tough, but the Rockets can do it.
I wont risk $100 just so this site can claim that money if I win. Ill bet you 100$ on that if I can claim the $100 for myself once I win this bet.
