Right now: 6-11 (5 game losing streak)

Upcoming scedule (10 home game, 3 on the road)

    Sun 5 Philadelphia W, 7-11
    Tue 7 New Orleans W, 8-11
    Thu 9 San Antonio L, 8-12
    Sat 11 Dallas L, 8-13
    Wed 15 Atlanta W, 9-13
    Fri 17 Golden State W, 10-13
    Sat 18 @ Charlotte W, 11-13
    Mon 20 Toronto W, 12-13
    Wed 22 Charlotte W, 13-13
    Sun 26 L.A. Clippers W, 14-13
    Tue 28 @ Milwaukee L, 14-14
    Wed 29 @ Cleveland L, 14-15
    Fri 31 Milwaukee W, 15-15

    Result:
    After December: 15-15

I was trying to be realistic rather than optimistic when predicting the W and L so to be as accurate as possible and that I really believe we will go on a run pretty soon starting with Atlanta on the 15th. By than the player should have a good feel for Sura who I thought were better than Ward/Lue at spreading the floor because of his size and athleticism. Of course, this team could be unpredictable and you might see them lose a couple to a sub .500 team or beat a couple of winning team such as the Cavs and Dallas at home(I doubt Dirk will get another 40+ at our place).

Either way, I can't see us being any worse than a 15-17 loses after December and if this is the case, than we will have a really good chance to improve even more after the new year. Hope is still there guys so don't give up on this team yet, there are way too many basketball game to be played.

Check your math there Ace...how do we go from 14-13 to 15-14 by losing one game?

    :)

The one thing that Hawks game taught me is that there are no guarantee wins for the Rockets anymore, not with the way we are playing right now.

Um, the last time somebody said that we would have such and such record by the end of December didn't the Rox go 2-5 or 2-6 or something. I don't see how anybody can predict how the team is going to do, they are just playing so poorly right now. They SHOULD be better than this, but who knows if things can get turned around. Once things go south, they have a tendancy to snowball.

Exactly. There is no way to predict how this team is going to play. Even though we will probably win vs. the Sixers, I don't know if we're going to be the team we saw lastnight or the team vs. the Pistons.

If the Rockets make it to .500 by 2005, then we're in decent shape. The goal isn't to be top seed right now, the goal is to make the playoffs. Once we're there anything can happen, and the Astros proved that getting on a hot streak at the end of the season can get you far.

    Hi noize,
Since you're good at predicting future events, can you tell me when I'm getting married, if my first child will be a boy or girl, and most importantly- check that crystal ball to see if I'm getting laid tonight with this new girl I'm seeing.

And before anyone here answers back with an wise crack of their own , your A$$ is probably not getting any tonight as well.:p

Possible, but optimistic. Regardless, there is no excuse for being .500 on January 1, 2005.

I think that's a pretty fair prediction given the way the team is playing. They have to win this game tonight, the 76ers are reeling. But the schedule is definitely a little easier than the opening month.

Do you mean no excuse for not being .500?

Or perhaps you mean that (pre-season) you thought we would've been better then that? In the words of a "famous" politician, 'please explain'?

I agree that it is a fair prediction ... but all the W's absolutely should be W's. A couple of losses out of that bunch, with no surprising wins against the L predictions, and you have to wonder if JVG makes it to the All Star break.

I have a few Wins/ Losses in question.

I feel that Toronto has our number. They always give us a hard time. Chalk that as a loss.
Also why would you predit we lose to Milwaukee? Chalk that as a win.
Overall same record but just had to through in my 2 cents. 15-15

Bingo. With Yao and T-Mac, the organization has no excuse for being in the vicinity of 16-15 (or 15-16) going into 2005. The fact they have to make up for a November collapse is irrelevant.

    Honestly think so?
I just cannot see les pulling the trigger this soon

    BTW
Is Rudy on the payroll or now. . I was of the mind NOT
because the way he went to Lakerland
    [asking, getting permission etc]

I think JVG finishes the season no matter what
but . . no playoffs will make for a VERY unstable summer
    for him
