Mark my words, we will make the playoffs. Im positive about this because there is no way that the Rockets with all the talent they have should not be able to make it. We're just going through some growing pains right now. When they mature as a team, they are going to be scary. We have one of the premier centers and one of the premier point guards in the league. Also, we have a star at shooting guard, one of the strongest power forward rotations in the league, and no real holes in our lineup. They just need to learn to get their minds focused and keep right on track. Heres to the playoffs, baby.
Thought I would also add, we are a much stronger team than the team that almost made the playoffs that one year. We just need to gain the winning mentality and keep it. The last couple of years has been tough on them and they are learning slowly, but surely they will find a way.
It usually means we are in sort of trouble if someone have to come out and state this. It's been a while nobody makes "we will make the playoffs" predictions.
Well, this is precisely the sort of trouble that will actually help this team grow. Some learning pain is necessary..............I think the key is defense and fr**king team play..move the ball. Rest will be fine.
Holymoly, stop being so negative! Even a newbie like me knows that you cannot always win. It's a ball game. I actually think it's good that we lost a few times now, just to have a reality check, then we can have our problems exposed and work on it before the playoffs. It is still early and things can still be rectified. Stay positive, we are still 12-10!!!!! Soulsong999
*yawn* Anyone who wants off the bandwagon, get off now. We've played a difficult schedule, with Yao still adjusting to the game, with Mo Taylor completely out of the flow, and the rest of the team adjusting to a very different style of offense (post-oriented). Through all of that, we're still 12-10 with a winning record. This team will do nothing but improve with experience, and there's no reason to think we won't see continued improvement for the rest of the season. Everyone knew at the beginning of the season that the first couple of months would be the most difficult. Despite all of the adjustments and the so-called negatives, we're still 12-10. I don't have any doubt we're in.
We are in the playoffs. It is only a matter of how far we go. Bad guard play won't last, DaDakota. We are very good now, getting better, and I would not be surprised to make the Conference Finals.
Let's not be "idealistic" here. Thus far into the season, we've shown really one of two things IMO. 1. We're great at home... errrr most of the time 2. We can be very dangerous given our big man and other weapons. Other than that, can you really see us stealing two games in a seven game series away from home? Are we that solid as to win all our home games in a series? We've yet to demonstrate consistency in either dept. We have four meetings with each West team. Let's see how our regular season record pans out before jumping to any conclusions. And don't discount how tough this league is, in one day we've dropped from 3 to 5... Utah remains strong, and you can bet that Lakers will make a run too. Let's hope we start racking up the Ws again.
The prediction of playoff is much more realistic than our dream that they will ever play smart basketball.
What do you know. A bad game, and DaDakota goes right back to his bashing ways. The Cat, it's just you and me man! Who would ever have thought I'd say that? I'm the positive one! My god!
DaDakota in the last couple of months you even started positive threads, to bad you're replys are beginning to get negative again, I liked it being on the same side as you in discusions.
I just don't think the Rockets have enough to make it to the playoffs this year. Cat says we have played a tough schedule and he is SO WRONG it is pathetic. We lost back to back games to teams WELL below .500, why are they below .500? Because they suck. We lost to a crappy Phoenix team, we lost TWICE to the Clippers. Our team just does not have that killer instinct. They do not BRING it every single night. And whenever they get into pressure situations, they fall back to street ball, and fail again and again and again. This team is going nowhere fast. DaDakota
we spanked philadelphia and beat both san antonio and sacramento pretty handily. phoenix is as of now a playoff team and that loss came down to 2 missed free throws. i don't see your logic. considering that we are over .500, have the 5th best record in the west, and are only in the second month of a new offense, this team looks so promising. i can't help but think you have to be joking to get a rise.
we cant afford to lose to the likes of the griz and ****s. Those are terrible teams, and yet...the rox are doing what they do best, defeat the best teams, seem hot, and then lose to the worst...
