This team would have been far better off with Capela in this series.

His pick and roll skills would have broken this D.

Yeah, trading for Westbrook then trading away Capella for Covington was a wash at best....

Covington is a mediocre perimeter defender.

    HUGE mistakes:

    Trading Paul
    Trading Capela
    Resigning Gordon

    certainly offensively

the lob was there all day and was an easy couple of buckets every game

the PnR is all but gone, and Harden’s options on the drive have severely diminished...the lob and the floater are gone

the Rockets were 17th offensively post-trade...it’s continued in the playoffs

never have the Rockets been this bad offensively in the Harden era

Trading Paul for Westbrook was a mistake.

Once we made that mistake, Capela was in the way of Westbrook, so we had to make another mistake in order to try to fix the first mistake

Yes, trading him was a MAJOR ****ING MISTAKE !!

Imagine keeping him as the starter and letting Hartenstein develop his 3pt shot so you have flexibility.

    Yep. Morey done goofed huge.

With Paul, Capela, and Gerald Green (if all healthy), we have a real shot in this game.

I know that they had one great season but I feel like the original mistake was trading for Paul. Could have built around Bev, Lou and Harrell. That roster was really one star away from seriously contending.

Harden was leading the matchups against Lebron James and having a real center was critical to having someone at the rim when Lebron got in the paint. Now there’s no resistance when he drives. Just easy layups and dunks. We didn’t have to keep Capela, but the Rockets still
needed to get a real center.

Well they didn't want to trade Harrell. I recall Morey trying to not include him in the trade, but had to bite the bullet.

Without a Chris Paul, I don't see that team competing with the Warriors. It's a big "what if", but more than likely one or both of Capela and Harrell would've been traded eventually for another star.

I would’ve been ok if they traded them for another star who fit the Rockets timeline better. Maybe they could’ve got Paul George or Butler if they had a better package to offer. This team would be a hell of a lot better with either of them instead of Westbrook and RoCo.

Capela would’ve been injured. Still .. shoulda gotten more than a role player when trading away a good big plus picks.
