I was driving behind a guy in a massive F-350 on the way in downtown and I saw that he had a number of bumper stickers including the W'04 sticker.

One of them in particular got me thinking...

We Support Our President and Our Troops.

I can remember some heated discussions with people on the right saying that if you weren't supporting Bush that you were being disloyal to the commander in chief and by extension not supporting the troops. Obviously I feel that this is a huge leap of logic but this brings up an interesting question.

If Obama is elected President, will this guy keep that sticker on his truck? Will he indeed "Support Our President" in his role as Commander in Chief as he did with W?

Doubtful. And when Osama Bin Laden is killed during Obama's presidency, this guy will give all the credit to George W. Bush.

Those bumper stickers are going to be peeled off pretty quickly.

Or they'll slice off the "president" part and leave the troops.

People still drive F-350s around town in Houston? The only reason anyone should be driving one of those is if they work/own a ranch or need to tow several tons of stuff.

We were on 45 Southbound, exiting downtown. He was wearing a shirt and tie.

Maybe he is a rancher that has jury duty... or a DB Accountant that graduated from A&M and can't get out of sh8tkicker mode. :D

Oh I see them on the freeway all the time and they are usually going like 80 miles an hour. How can these guys afford all the gas and diesel they burn up speeding on the freeway?

i don't own a vehicle, and i'm not the bumper sticker type, but i can say, w/o irony, that no matter who is inaugurated in january, they will be my president, and have my support.

would that the left could have made the same statement these past 8 years. we'd be in a much healthier place politically, not to mention the beneficial effect on the wars in iraq and afghanistan.

Sorry, but the fact that I think Bush is a freakin' idiot has no effect on the war.

    On the contrary.

Had the American people done nothing but cheer lead for Bush these past 8 years, we would find ourselves in a much deeper hole than we do now.

We knew Bush was the wrong choice, and we are correct.

That's right. Bush is free and clear of any responsibility. It's my fault.

    Sorry guys, my bad. :(

I share the same sentiment. I don't like what the president does most of the time but at least show respect and support for him. It's bad enough most countries hate the USA. We don't have to undermine ourselves. Regardless of who wins in this election, he will be the representative for our country.

Our nation was built on dissent. It is our greatest right.

It might be time to rethink that. These guys have a point. It's working out well for Kim Jong Il and Saddam Hussein had a pretty good run.

You got half of it right. The other reason people drive big honkin' trucks/SUV's is to compensate for what they are lacking in other equipment.

This absolutely applies to single guys with big trucks/SUVs: you're either doing man's work or pretending to be a man.
