How on Earth do you get outboarded by 21?? I know this is Philly's way of playing, they crash the boards big time, but gee... get a freaking rebound! How is that our 7-6 Center gets 5 boards in 24 mins and major scrub Brian Skinner, 6-9, gets 11 boards in 21 mins? How is that our Franchise of a point guard has 3 asists in 43 mins and 6 TO? This team is full of talent, but they don't know a thing how to play sound basketball, and how to play tough and smart.

You know, the fact that it's the preseason might have a small, small portion to do with it.

I really think that a thread entitled "we suck" should never ever be allowed in this forum. Especially, in the preseason....that is rediculous

Our players are very distracted right now. It's the preseason as well, so it's OK.

They know they have to win once the season begins and the Rocks will comeout strong. Ming will be brought along slowly.

It's a preseason for us, but playoffs for Philly, correct? Or are you trying to tell me that they were runing away from the rebounds because it's preseason? Why did Francis play 43 mins if it's just preseason.
For a young team preseason matters. They have to learn to work hard and smart every game. This is not the team that had Hakeem and Charles who could turn it on when it matters. Dream never really gave a damn about pre-season, but these guys do. You are telling me that Yao doesn't want to impress? Well, get damn rebounds, big guy! You are the freaking #1 pick! You are telling me that Steve doesn't care? Steve would kill to win anytime: practice, shootaround, pick-up game. Well, play damn smart Franchise, as any fraking $80M point guard should play.

too early to say we suck!
I am excited about the season ahead of us. We have something new with Yao Ming and besides Moochies injury we appear to be pretty healthy. I am not going to worry about being out rebounded tonight. Look at the glass half full not empty. We got out rebounded and still only loss by a small margin. Take your negative remarks somewhere else.

Ming only got 5 boards b/c he doesn't know how to box out.

Francis only got 3 assists b/c he doesn't know how to run the offense yet, and neither does anyone else really. It'll take Ming becoming accustomed to the team for that offense to really pick up.

This thread reminds me of an old joke......

DO you know the difference between a job after 15 years and a wife/girl friend of 15 years.....

    the job still sucks!!

For some posters ROckets will always suck. I hope they are Rox fans and not trolls. IF they are trolls, we get the f*** out of here. IF they are fans, stay here and post more. Once in a while we can say, you still suck.

I don't ever expect this team to be one of the top 15 teams when it comes to assists simply because we have so many one-on-one players.
That being said, sometimes we really need to remind the Cat and Stevie that there are more than them 2 on the offensive end.
That goes for Kenny Thomas as well. ;)

Stevie has the ability to run a team, he shows it every once in awhile, but he will just as quickly revert back to the one-on-one.

We may make the playoffs but until we resolve the one-on-one issue, we won't make it out of the first round.

To say that the Rockets got outrebounded by 21 can be attributed to the preseason is a total load of bunk (to put it politely). I don't care if these guys are meeting in a street game -- to be outrebounded by 21 is totally unacceptable.

For the last two years, I've noticed that the Rockets haven't consistently outhustled the opposition in getting the loose ball during a rebound. Typical scenario -- the opponent shoots a ball, the shot is missed, the ball deflects off a Rockets' player (again, unacceptable, IT'S NOT A BULLET, IT'S ONLY A BASKETBALL -- GRAB IT!!), the ball lies 18 inches from the grasp of another Rocket, but an opposing player, at least 24 inches away, picks up the ball).

Also, how many assists did we have tonight, 8 or 9? PLEASE, make at least two additional passes to get a quality shot!!

I know I'm ranting, but this lackadaisical play really burns my rear end!!

That's a very good view on the situation. We have the talent, but they have to learn to play as a TEAM. I think everyone wants to win bad enough that they will realize this and try harder. It's up to Rudy to take charge!!

On the game, however, being outrebounded on the OFFENSIVE glass by that much is pathetic (when is KT getting back???) and having only 9 assists is awful.

At one point in the game, the Rockets were shooting 48 percent from the floor while the Sixers were shooting 36 percent. Yet, the game was tied. Ouch!

At least ZRB is waiting for the games to count before he goes ballistic. I think Yao's arrival has freaked the team out. They'll settle down after awhile. I'm not happy about the rebounds and assists either. If that kept up it would be time for US to freak out. It's still early days.
