I think mo taylor is more of a small forward than power. He can not rebound, and he shoots more than he posts up. So, I propose that if we are fortunate enough to get webber, we put him at power, and taylor at small forward. of course there's the money issue.....

IMHO Taylor is too slow to play sf.

Taylor has already said that he would not want to play here if CWebb was here...

The Rockets should just resign all their free agents, and go after a good defensive veteran like Antonio or Dale Davis. Maybe they could swing a trade for Brian Grant. I like this team, and I feel that they would improve greatly if they were kept together with the only additions being solid defensive vets.

    Here's a nice lineup:

    Steve-Mooch
    Mobley-Anderson-Langhi
    Anderson-Walt-Bull
    Taylor-(defensive veteran)-Kenny
    Hakeem-(defensive veteran)-Cato-Collier

With this year under the belt, I could see another 10 wins.

Why? CWebb would eat up all of the cap space and make MoMoney have to wait two years to get the Bird exception and the $$$ he really wants.

A very good argument could be made about MoMoney playing the 3 in the NBA. He only lacks the three point range, which he should be able to make up on the low block. Besides with Cato's propensity to get into foul trouble, CWebb will have to play ~10 minutes a game at center with MoMoney sliding into the 4 slot. Plus whenever CWebb sits, MoMoney will fill in. Thus, MoMoney would probably end up splitting his time between the 3 and 4.

Of course all of this is a moot point since MoMoney will sign with the highest bidder next offseason. Even if the Rocks don't sign MoMoney, his chances are very slim on staying.

Taylor doesn't have the quickness to play the 3 defensively. And do you think you could maybe refer to him with at least one term besides "MoMoney"?

Taylor on 3!Nothing's wrong with that, except Mo is a little slower and does'nt have that capability of steling the ball.Nah, he definitely plays 4.

I would be delighted if we can re-sign Maurice Taylor and sign Chris Webber. Taylor at the small forward is a good idea. He is very athletic and he has the best cross-over move for a power forward. Chris Webber can start at power forward. If we can keep Taylor and get Webber we would definetly be one of the best teams in the NBA. Our starting lineup would be:
    Center-Hakeem Olajuwon
    Power Forward-Webber
    Small Forward-Taylor
    Shooting Guard-Shandon Anderson
    Point Guard-Steve Francis

We would have Cuttino Mobley, Walt Williams, Kelvin Cato, Dan Langhi, Carlos Rogers, Kenny Thomas, Jason Collier and Matt Bullard coming off the bench.

I think the zone defense rules create all kind of new & exciting possibilities for intresting lineups. in a 2-3 zone, you could go with two power forward types like Mo and CWebb on the baseline corners w/ a big center in the middle and Francis and Cat up top. The extra big body would be great for packing in the zone against someone like the Lakers. As long as you play the zone tight, Mo's lack of latteral quickness is not much of a factor.

In otherwords, as long as your guys are flexable on the offensive end, you have much more flexability on the defensive end. It's not like this team is built around quickness/man-to-man defense as it is.

I forgot to include Moochie Norris. He would definetly be on this team next year.

Remember, Maurice Taylor was in a dilemma last summer trying to decide whether he should sign with us or the Seattle Supersonics. The Sonics have too many power forwards. It was believed that if Taylor signed with the Sonics he would play small forward, unless Vin Baker was traded.

Maurice Taylor and Chris Webber would not compliment eachother at all. They have similar games, with the exeception of rebounding, and neither give you a real defensive edge. It's either Webber or Mo, lets not become to predictable and lets concentrate on adding players who have skills that are contrasting, yet complimentary.

Hydra, Cuttino Mobley has no problem with coming off the bench. Mobley said he just likes to play basketball whether he starts or comes off the bench.

With a zone defense in place, there really isn't much of a difference whether Mo is a small forward or a power forward.

He didn't want to sign with the Rockets if Webber signed, 'cause he wouldn't get to start, and wouldn't get the minutes he deserves. However, if he moves to the 3, then I think we're tough as nails.

As far as Cat coming off the bench, I prefer him as a bench player than a starter. He's instant offense. Spark plug. Changes the flow of the game. Contender for 6th man of the year. As a starter, he's a ballhog. Black hole. And demands too much offensive attention.

If we had Mooch & Cat coming off the bench, we'd have the possibly the best bench in the league ... just 'cause of those 2 guys.

this is why i have said that we need another cuttino mobley, except off the bench.

cat needs to start, screw shanddn.

joe forte, with a low 1st round pick, is a possibility. and he IS a cat clone, insofar as his penchant for scoring.

Great, more excuses to have Mo shooting jumpshots...

Cwebb or not Cwebb, hit the road Mo... It was nice while it lasted... Don't let the rebound hit you on the way out...
