We're weak. We have talents but they are too young to win a lot in the NBA.

So our goal should be to lose more games. That means we'll pick a good talent in the next year draft.

Remember! The Spurs did the same when Robinson was injuerd. Then they picked Duncan. Then they won a Championship.

Losing doesn't guarantee anything. Not even a good pick. Houston is better off letting the young players grow and mature by winning. Losing breeds upon itself, gets inside you, and silently commits the crime of making you a permanent loser.

The Spurs were a veteran team that didn't need to "learn how to win" like the young Rockets do. However, having said that, it looks like we'll be losing a lot of ball games anyway. This team hasn't reached it's potential, but it doesn't look like we'll be reaching it anytime soon. I can't wait for the draft. I'm licking my chops.

With our amazing track record of drafting amazing talent regardless of where in the draft we stand, I think we should alow nature to take its course. The Rockets will do as well with the 6th pick as we would the 3rd. Personally, I see us falling some where around 6th in the lottery. For example, that's where Larry Hughes was drafted last year, over Paul Pierce I might add. Oh, we'll get another young talent; indeed we don't need to worry about trying to tank the season to do that. Just look what we did with our 24th pick this past year. Kenny Thomas anyone?

"You know we did that whole lose lots and wait for the draft thing pretty much the entire later half of the eightes.Didn't work."

Huh? We've made the lotto ONCE since we drafted Dream. And that was a 42 - 40 season.

We tanked twice in the 80s - and ended up getting Sampson and Dream, and making it to the finals a year or so later.

There's a big difference between a Kenny Thomas and a Lamar Odom. If we're not going to make the playoffs this season (pretty much a lock) then stink it up as bad as you can, and get (at the worst) the 3rd pick in the draft. Hopefully, a 4 or a scoring 3.

We don't have to try to lose this time around. The young Rockets will play hard and progress but simply won't have enough to get to the playoffs.
