Another big body to help with Yao's minutes. Its clear that the great Deke does not have anything left in the tank. He's not reacting to the ball, he can't rebound anymore. I love his presense in the lockeroom, but the more and more Yao plays, I see another knee or ankle going out! Which is why we shoulda kept Butler's guaranteed contract

Or Mike Harris, for that matter.

Jackie Butler was really bad. We can pick up a scrub who would contribute more than Butler could have.

Butler was awful. Big Jake was better.

I said before the season that I didn't think signing Deke was a good idea, that he should have just retired, and that he doesn't fit.

    I still stand by that.

I agreed then and I still do.

I still don't think Butler was the answer. (not saying you do)

I would have kept Mike Harris, he was playing a lot better than Bonzi.

If we had kept Harris, we could have traded Bonzi.

But, we still needed a backup C, either Deke or Butler, in case Yao gets hurt.

Will probably see Scola getting more spot minutes at the center spot

Jackie Butler was a bad player, had a worse case to make the team than Justin Reed

Its what the board has being saying all along
Either get a BIG power forward next to Yao to mask his deficiencies
Get a big 3 point shooting or outside shooting power forward to free him up more
So he can just concentrate on scoring

No we shouldn't. At least Deke contributes on defense and rebound whereas Butler doesn't do anything but put on a body on the court.

I'd rather have Bass than Butler. Why Dallas always gets good players very cheap?

    We agree again.

Harris will prove himself to be a sold NBA player. I just hope it's for us.

has anyone signed butler yet? that is a pretty big red flag if you ask me if he hasnt been signed. a young big man with lots of the "p" word should have a lot of teams interested and yet they aren't

Bass got nothing special. He is just another Undersized F with a jumpshot. The Mavericks are still lacking the post presence.

By the way, what happen to Big Jake?! From the limited play time he performed really well last year.

Don't look like the other teams are fighting each other to sign him. There is a reason why the Spurs were willing to trade Scola for nothing in return? ................................................................................

The name is Jackie Butler! :D
