We Need To Snag Deron Williams....Before He Becomes The Next Carmelo

    The Carmelo Anthony trade talks are in a bit of a lull, so to help fill the space and time lets see who will be the next to hijack the league's media coverage with his desire to change teams....
    Remember he might be a great even elite player. but come 2012, all eyes are going to be on chris paul and dwight howard.
    And its no secret the j*zz are going nowhere, so how about we fill in 2 spots at once?

    Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur for Yao Ming, Aaron Brooks, Patrick Patterson, Chase Budinger, Jarred Jeffries and draft picks anyone?

    And why would he want to play in Houston? Can we please close the book on this chapter, it's time to move on. Last Summer changed everything. Stars want to 1. team up with other stars and 2. play in glamorous cities, so how do we fit into that equation? The answer is we don't.

    We're going to need to draft our first star and use them to recruit a second star. Any other strategy is Fool's Gold.

    Some of these threads are just ridiculous. GMs aren't as stupid as some of you think, and we could trade our entire roster and wouldn't be able to get Deron. He's an elite PG, and all we have are role players.

    Please stop the homerism.

    just cause some players do that, doesnt mean all players do. if that was the case wouldnt every single star player be begging for a trade?

    so whats your point? can't you see morey's plan? get a bunch of role player or "assets" and trade up to a superstar. have you never seen how a trade works? look at the pau gasol trade, yes a little too lopsided, but still. the talent built up, and now the trade doesnt look as bad as it did when it first occured.

    that's why you trade brooks, patterson, budinger, and picks... our best rookie, a shooter with huge potential, and yes an undersized imo 18 ppg point guard. plus 2 picks and yao's expiring. patterson can learn a lot from jefferson and millsap is only getting better.

    the jazz should realize they arent winning a chip this year, not even close, deron is getting frustrated, and its been known for a bit now. so thats why yao saves them money.

    I'd trade everyone remotely related to Houston to Utah if we could get Deron.

    Throw in the whole organisation, throw in NASA, throw in Toyota Center, hell even rename Houston rockets into Houston Jazz if they want, just for D-Will

    do you not see okur? we dont need a dominant center to win a chip, you saw that with the celtics and lakers. okur could play very nice at a center, and he always killed us in the playoffs. remember. you cant teach height.

    We would probably have to wait for 2012.

    He would want to play here because of our fantastic legacy, and we have a city that NBA players love. Our management and staff is also top notch.

    That said, I think it would be smart to attempt to clear out 2 spots for FA's... CP3 and Dwight have to go somewhere... :grin:

    Why would the j*zz give up their franchise player? Did Deron mention somewhere that he wants to pull a "Melo" and bounce? Unless Deron wants to leave Utah, I believe this thread is a.... fail.
