    Lets be honest
Jim Jackson to short and not athletic enough to start at the three.
Mo Taylor or Juwan Howard cannot rebound or play defense and aren't consistent enough on offense to start.
Sura cannot shoot, Ward is too old.
We have holes in three positions.
Solutions let Gaines and Boki play this year and develop them, meanwhile lose.
That would put us in the lottery.
Draft a point guard maybe Chris Paul or Raymond Felton.
Small forward trade highly unlikely dreamcasting Peja, Paul Pierce,
but hey Keynon Martin went for three picks and Vince Carter went for two picks and three scrubs, so stranger things have happened. Possibly sign Michael Reed
Power Forward no one gives away polished power forwards normally even though Kenyon was given way. We just have to trade for Tyson Chandler, Nene, Chris Wilcox or sign Kwame Brown. We would have to take a flyer. We're not just a third scorer away we're three starters away. So since we no if we get to the playoffs we leave in the first round so lets get a keeper.

So this is what its come down to.

A team that was expected to be the new power in the Western Conference we are discussing going to the lottery as a good thing.

    :(

The lottery is not such a bad thing. The Suns and Seattle were two lottery teams last season and look at them now.

The Rockets make the Lottery, Jeff Van Gundy must not only be fired, but removed from the city limits with a police escort. ("Your things will be sent to you.")

The lottery may be the only way we can improve this team. We are capped out so bad for the next couple seasons the lottery could help. Bad thing is JVG would ruin the rookie.

If we wind up in the lottery, we will try to draft a player to package with someone from our roster to get....well, whatever we need, I guess. And do we ever need a lot.

The lottery seems the best way to solve our problem and build a solid base for next several years. We do not need to try our best to figure out how to get rid of PF's contract and kick Ward out. Just have a good sleep and start to fall free.

Exposing JVG to a raw rookie is asking for developmental issues.

our lotto pick will only be usefull in trade. with CD's history and JVG's unwillingness to develope anyone, if we don't trade the pick this year will be wasted.

so, i suggest trading it now. every team in the league thinks we are a lotto team. give them a top 3 protected 2005 pick and they will count on it being around #10. we could get a nice player in return for a pick and boki, or jj.

The team is sorely lacking in young hungry players. Even if they trade the pick, it’ll need to be for a young player (ie. Chandler, Nene, etc.), who they’ll still need to develop anyway.

If Van Gundy doesn’t develop the player the Rockets draft, then he’ll go. Simple as that.
