I'm really tired of hearing the out-of-shape excuse, JVG should just come out with the real reason why Bonzi isn't playing. We all know how much better this team can be with Bonzi coming off the bench, especially with the way TMAC is playing right now. Like everyone here, I want to know the truth so we can all move along if JVG doesn't plan to play him at all this season and plan to trade him in January.

JVG personally doesn't like him, that's the reason.

This is what the Rockets fans deserve, the truth! He just needs to tell us if he's playing for us or not. Come on now, this guy should be running up and down the court right now with the amount of time he's been practicing or getting in shape.

I am off the view that Bonzi is not what our organisation is looking for

someone who is passionate and dedicated as the rest of the team

if JVG lets Whale play, then it will dishearten all the other players who have worked soo hard...leading to a collapse in team chemistry

by puting fat face on the bench JVG is saying "if you work hard you can play" which is the attitude we need to win games..and it is the attitude the team needs to further improve

if he is out of shape, he shouldnt play
if he is not attempting to practice or not work hard enough to earn a spot in game, he shouldnt play

never put ur hope on a lazy-@ss

JVG or the Rockets should just tell it as it is, tell us or the media that Bonzi isn't working hard or isn't keeping up with his regiment. There hasn't really been any updates on why he still isn't playing.

Good point. But I though Bonzi has been working out and practicing lately. He's just not getting into JVG's ideal shape. Maybe he can't help it, he has slow metabolism.. the kid's destined to be like Barkley.. fat, but powerful (without the annoyance that comes out of his mouth).

But in any case.. there is no hope for Bonzz in this team. It seems like JVG is all set and firm with his belief that Bonzz will never play. Any minutes he can get would be sheer miracle, either due to injuries or... well.. that's all I can think of.

JVG is firm in his beliefs of playing Padget and JHo over Bonzz.. I even have this feeling that JVG would much rather play Novak than him. Poor Bonzz.. I hope he gets traded. It would be best for both situations of Bonzz and the Rockets.

you guys are blowing this way out of proportion. i trust van gundy and his decision to not play bonzi and i highly doubt it's a personal grudge. he DID play in the first two games. gundy just didnt like what he saw and made a decision to inactivate him. nonetheless, bonzi is a force in the paint, and if any of u saw what he did against the spurs last playoffs you'd be begging for him right now.

Out of shape players thrive in sports all the time. It shouldnt be that big of deal. Historically we should know we will never get a legit answer. Van Gundy let Derek Anderson disappear without much info. I hope Bonzi gets a chance. Anyone who watched the Kings in the playoffs last year know what he can bring to the table. And its worth overlooking a "lazy" attitude. Bonzi can dominate at times. Outside of Yao and Tmac we dont have anyone else who can do that. Risk outways reward. Play him 8-12mins until he is in shape. Jesus.

i'm sure there's more to it then out of shape as since he's played those two games, he had ANOTHER personal excused absence and was late for a practice. as fans i think we are owed an explanation some time sooner than later but my guess is he gets in a game by the end of next week.

derek anderson was released because on top of whatever laziness issues he had, he just wasn't good. yeah he got a ring, but he contributed about as much to it as i did. i trust van gundy's judgement on this one.

i dont get it either. bonzi played clarence weatherspoon and he was a whale. in fact, he was a "jvg type" player.

    what gives jeff?

I'm starting to think its a way of saving face for trading purposes... so Bonzi doesn't look too bad when they're shopping him around. I'm holding out on judgement though. I'd really like it to work out for the best -- Bonzi could fix a ton of our current problems.

I wish JVG can play Bonzi for a little bit just to let us know whether hes a keeper (the bonzi we wanted) or not. If hes still not ready, OK, bench him, trade him. At least I want the truth.

    see that is your mistake.

we have seen this action before with gundy:

    1.taylor
    2.griffin
    3.anderson
    4. even to some extent with steve and cat

it wont be lomg until bonzi goes the way of most of those.

a pretty talented baller who was signed with great hope but traded for some other team's tired broken down crap.

1 through 3 on the list were pure garbage. In retrospect, I can see why Van Gundy chose not to play any of those aforementioned players.
