Moochie is not a good backup for Stevie Steve needs somebody that can shoot and dish dimes too like bobby jackson with the kings. I hope we get another backup point guard next season. Mooch can even hit a freaking lay up. What was that.

    here here.

I hope we can pass off Mooch and his overhyped self to some pg desperate team in the offseason.

I'd rather try Tito in his place, or bring in some other young, cheap prospects that play a different game.

I feel bad for Moochie. Don't know what happens to him this year. He did well last year and the year before last. This year he does not even look like he belongs in the NBA.

Count me in the group that believes we need a better backup guard. I felt so strongly about it that a few weeks ago I proposed a potential trade that would have us getting Jason Terry of the Hawks. I think this team really needs a third guard that can come in and play either the 1 or the 2 spot to allow Mobley/Francis some rest time. Also having a spark plug guard off the bench ala NVE and B. Jackson would be huge for this team in giving the team that much needed scoring from the backup unit.

Moochie has been a big disappointment this year. Last year he was decent and was a scoring threat at times. But he has totally regressed this year. I think his confidence is way low these days. Rudy doesn't appear to have ANY faith in him. He just plays as a stop gap measure to give Francis SOME rest.

We definitely need to upgrade the backup PG/Guard spot with a player that can be a SOLID rotation guy.

Come on! Everybody was all over Moochie's jock after he led us to a victory over the mighty Grizzlies! Even the great Lorenzen Wright proclaimed that the Rockets were better with Moochie at the helm. He also dissected the defense of those perennial playoff powerhouse LA Clippers.

Here's an idea. Have Steve start against the playoff teams, then let Moochie run the show against the dregs of the NBA. :)

Mooch has been great as of late, except for last night...

Now, he isn't Franchise, but even Stevie wasn't himself last night...

Mooch is great off the bench, but I just see the whole team as fatigued...

Please do not look for problems we do not have. All players struggle and Moochie is no exception. He still gets to the rim basically anytime he wants and he is very good setting up players. Do not let your heart worry about Moochie, please. Furthermore I would be very surprised if another pg comes in with Maddox in the wings.

You said, just what needed to be said! Moochie was paid too much and doesnt live up to what we require of him. He could be moved in a package with Rice to the Clippers for.... You Know who...Brand and/or Odam etc.

Yeah, the Clippers are going to give up a budding superstar for and overpaid mediocre backup point guard and an aging has-been who plays thirty games a year.

Interestingly, Mean seems to be more willing to play Moochie than Rudy did lately.

Moochie ran a pretty good PnR with Taylor last night in the 4th. They did that several times in a row and scored every time. Remeber earlier this season, when Moochie was almost the only one who knew how to pass it to Yao?

I think Moochie is a decent PG for set plays. But his brain works pretty slow, so in situations where fast actions and decisions are needed, he usually does the wrong thing.

I don't know, I think we definitely need better depth at the guard positions. I like to see Posey play more at the 2 and free up some PT for TMo and Boki.

Steve needs to stay where he is and let him play the game as is required of him, he must put winning before stats. Maddox should be given the chance to develop this offseason and used instead of Moochie next season. Maddox has much more upside than Moochie, he is so more the athlete!

I find it so weird that people here still neglect Rice's trading value. It's really a orm of denial that stems from not agreeing with the original trade. There's no other way to explain it.

ONE year and 10 MILLION DOLLARS.

Oh, that's without the ring he has, as well as being a 3-pt expert and having more veteran experience than 90% of the NBA.

I don't think we can add Moochie to him and get Brand or Odom, but don't say he's an ageing star that no one would want. Tell it like it is. Teams COVET Rice, and he ACTUALLY got some play before THIS trading deadline. Think about THAT for a second.

Sane, exactly! Guys that have their contracts expiring are goldmines these days for teams that want to dump salary. Plus Rice has the added value in that he is a decent long range shooter to boot.

Around the trading deadline this year teams were almost willing to give away "quality players" for expiring contracts. This is where Rice's contract has huge value. Once again, teams are willing to give away players BETTER than Rice to get Rice's expiring contract. A perfect example of this was the Hawks were willing to give away Shareef Abdur Rahim to the Spurs for Steve Smith. The Spurs rejected the offer as it would hamper their plans this summer to get a MAX FA. But think about it...SAR for Steve Smith? Highway Robbery! That's the value of an expiring contract to teams that are DESPERATE to cut salary and get under the luxary tax or try to start over.

The Rockets won't be under the salary cap anytime soon so just letting Rice's contract expire does not make much sense if you can add a quality SF starter or a quality bench rotational player for some of that money.

Rice's salary has been an albatross since we traded for him, but this summer it appears that his salary will be a huge bonus for us.

Dear sir...at least one of us has been suggesting that Rice is the best option to get better next year. For Mooch to go he will have to be packaged with someone desirable (Rice or Cato IMHO) because his play has slipped since the day he bilked the good guys outta millions!

Are you serious? Steve Smith has about the same game and same value Rice has now. You think we can trade Rice for Shareef? We have to pay him a lot of money but Shareef will make us an instant contender for the championship.
