I know Artest is head case, but image him down the stretch in a playoff game and we're sucking wind on offense and can't get a bucket. The beast will come up with a bucket and possible and one. No one could stop him, there isn't a team in the West that could check him (Chuck did a good job on the last possession).

Dude was straight murdering the entire Rockets squad. Question, how do you let one dude man handle you. At some point you have to stop being stubborn, double team, and make someone else score. Nobody else has shot for Sacto for the last 6 minutes while Artest put in work. Although, Brad miller did hit a 3 over no D Novak.

I could help but admire him, it was like a mini dream.

He's one of the best players in the NBA. That's why he was tearing us up last night. He's just been banished to a crummy team and his attitude has black-balled him. I'd take him in a heartbeat if we weren't doing so well.

If he could maintain his composure and does not let go his anger like in the game against us, then he is very good. Sometimes, he get frustrated in the last few min of the games and he commits flagrant foul or got himself ejected
that lead to FTs for the opponents and his team would have lost.

I'd trade T-mac straight up for him. He's exactly what we lack a guy with a razor sharp killer instinct. If Artest finds his way to Denver they will have what they lack a lock down defender. The Rockets need to try and keep that from happening.

Can you imagine the defense we could play with Artest, Shane, and Hayes. Assuming we don't include them in the trade other teams would struggle to score 70 pts on the Rockets.

that first IF is a huge IF, the guy's history tells you exactly what he'll be, his b-ball talent is huge but his downside is just as huge, just give up the stupid artest dream

I would give up bonzi, mj, steve, and head in heart beat. Bonzi is a mental case without the D and consistent offensive game. I would consider the future president of the US - Shane Battier for Artest, starting with Tmac.

If he is so great, then explain why every team who had him, has traded him away? He's also been known to demand a trade when things don't go "his way". How do we know he doesn't demand a trade because he's not getting enough shots with Yao and T-Mac? I don't think he'll like playing third fiddle behind Yao and T-Mac. He wants to the the main guy. He is not worth giving up our future. If we can get him with scraps like Shane,Kirk,Head and James, then do it.

His history is not good but that one year ban has deep effects on him.
Since that ban, I don't think he made any head case headlines. Though
we could still see some of craziness in him at times based on his reaction or
expression. Anyhow, I agree it's risk. Bonzi was a well known risk also
but Adelman has been amazing in dealing head cases. Somehow, I have confidence in Adelman in dealing with Ron. JVG would failed consistently to deal with them.

Tracy for Bibby and Artest is a match, I think.

That's not a trade I would do, though.

read the link on Angkor Wat post, he's still causing problems if on a smaller scale and don't think his positives outweigh his negatives.

Oh on the JVG, yeah because Bonzi was in shape last year right? and he's been soooo consitent this year.... this year a healthy Bonzi has given us flashes of solid play but he's hardly delivered on a night in night out basis

No only Bonzi, JVG also have problems dealing with Franchise, VSpan, many others.

Unfortunately, that is probably a literal killer instinct.

I'd give the Kings Brooks, Novak, Snyder, Bonzi, cash, and a first round pick for Artest. They can use Brooks, Novak, and Snyder, and they can buy Bonzi out with the cash. No one else is going to give them a better deal to rent Artest for 1/2 a season.

    PG: Alston / James
    SG: McGrady / Head
    SF: Artest / Battier
    PF: Scola / Landry
    C: Yao / Hayes / Mutumbo

Artest = Vernon Maxwell + Mario Elie. Artest = Rasheed Wallace. He would light a fire under TMac for sure.

By the way, what's with the grudge between the Maloofs and Adelman?
I thought the Maloofs should be grateful that Adelman made their team a
contender for years and got them into several WCFs.

^Yeah, I completely forgot about their "beef". Not sure what it was, but they don't want to do any deals that helps Rick the Ruler.
