Mavs lost Jamison and Nash. They got Harris through draft but he is not going to be ready to play NBA. They just used whole MLE on Daniels so they cannot add more players. I think we will have the edge over mavs, we only need to beat spurs to be the best team in Texas.
Well the only way shaq goes to dallas is Via Dirk. If they lose dirk and finely and get only shaq in Return, in my eyes they just got worse. Rox Right now are the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West. 1: Spurs 2:Wolves 3:houston Thats assuming the lakers breakup!...
Kings besides Peja an Bibby are nothing. Webber is not the same player and Divac is gone. Peeler is gone too. jackson is allways injured. they had there run, i think there finished.
Hey, I'm not saying the Rockets won't be more talented than the Kings next season. But they still need to go out there and beat the other Western Conference playoff teams. Keep getting swept by the Kings and Spurs and losing 3-1 to the Mavs and Grizzlies, and it's gonna be very difficult to secure one of the top 3 seeds.
if the rockets are able to get a solid point guard, and a nice backup center, perhaps with with one other player, then they'll be a 4 or 5 seed this year barring a major injury to one of the big 4, Spurs, Wolves, Kings, and whatever team Shaq goes to.
This is a New team fresh Start, Combine that With the Lakers Demise, Dallas losing nash, Kings getting older and older...if you look around, you'll see Some of the big boys in the west just alot Weaker. offcourse it's early in the offseason, but dallas losing Nash for nothing in return is a body blow to there chances.
Last I checked Brad Miller was an All-star. Webber won't be as horrendous after he gets a full offseason to recover his knee. Until the abdominal tear last season, durability hasn't been a huge issue with Bobby Jackson. And Vlade could be back. They have one or two more seasons left.
But on the flipside, you've got Denver, Memphis, Phoenix, Portland, and Utah all being more competitive this season. Never mind New Orleans being thrown into the mix. I'm not trying to rain on the parade. I'm thrilled about the T-Mac deal. I think it'll make the Rockets contenders in the years to come(just not in 2004-05). But they've gotta quit relying on their stellar record against the Leastern Conference and start beating the Western powerhouses. Hell, start beating the crappy West teams. They lost 3-1 to the Suns last season for chrissakes!
Don't be surprised if the Rockets aren't real nasty defensively and move up close to the Spurs and Wolves Van Gundy got Steve to buy into defense first and Cat returned to being a lock down defender. Alot depends on our interior defense. A good shot blocker to help Yao and Yao staying out of foul trouble. Also defense at the point will be important. If we get a good defender at the point and some defensive help in the post this team will be top4-5 next season. TMac is an excellent defender and Howard and JJ are adequate.
Since when does using the MLE up mean that the Mavericks can't sign more players? Cuban doesn't care about the cap!
When you are over the cap, you only have MLE and vet minimum to use. You can match offers on restricted FA (regardless of cap), but they didn't do it on Nash.
He has to. It's the rule. The only player he can sign if the Mavs are over the cap are: 1. The current Mavs FAs, according to the Bird rule. 2. Using the MLE 3. Using the Minimum Exeption If I am wrong on this, someone let me know please.
Who knows what else will happen in FA for both Houston and Dallas? But as of TODAY...Dallas has moved back to the pack. And Dallas knows it. Check out the Dallas newspapers today. They know it.
