They on a little winning streak and confidence is increasing + Calderon is stepping up big time, which was all made possible by our terrible play and the former Rocket Lowry being out Seriously though, you guys think Kyle's starting position is in jeopardy?
I think it is mainly about Bargnani who doesn't even like basketball being about like Carl says but also... I think Jose is trying to play himself onto another team
Put your tin foil hat on, I will readily admit that this is all fun, idle speculation: Theory: Calderon is being showcased and given starter's minutes to amp his trade value. Reasoning: The man flat-out demanded a trade a week ago, then made several intriguing statements to the media where he did not renounce his trade demands so much as double down on the fact that he could be a professional on any team he played for. Theory: Kyle Lowry is not actually injured. Reasoning: I was watching the game where he supposedly got hurt. Lowry was getting shouted at by Casey even more than usual and had awful body language. Then he hit the ground and immediately got up to complain about the lack of a whistle. Then he continued to play. Then it was halftime. THEN Lowry continued to play a little bit after the half, but was "injured" and couldn't go on. When he sat there, sulking on the bench, I noticed no ice packs, no wraps, no nothing. Pretty curious for somebody with a strained shoulder, scratch that, partially torn triceps. You'd think there would have been a lot of swelling and pain, maybe some limited range of motion. Since, you know, there would have been. Because that's what a torn triceps is all about. Followup reasoning: Lowry is either being benched as an internal disciplinary matter, or he is in on this and is helping with the showcasing. It wouldn't be hard to convince him, all it would take is the promise that the Raptors will be his team and his team only once Calderon is gone. Let's be honest, all Lowry ever wanted was to be The Man on an NBA team of his own. He has the skills and the confidence to pull it off, and I for one wish him success.
