Well, after all the arguments with our builder and all the headaches associated with building a new home, we finally moved in on Saturday. I'd say we have 80% of all our belongings moved over and we are about 80% unpacked as well. I'll set up the satellite tonight and I still need to do some landscaping...and yes, I still need to put up the fence. Here's a couple of pictures of the front: Back: Entrance from Living Room: Living Room vault from Foyer: Living room vault to Dining/Kitchen: Dining Entrance: Kitchen:
Wow, GRASS in the Valley! Whodathunk it? That badboy definitely needs a basketball hoop in the driveway. That octagon island in the kitchen is badass, too...
That's a false door. It doesn't really open---it's just a facade over the range hood ventilator. I like the tile backsplash and the archway, column, and ceiling work. Be prepared to spend LOTS of time at Home Depot and Lowe's now. The first thing you need to do is plant some trees.....they're a joy to watch grow with your new home.
Thanks for the kind words guys. We really love the house! The first night we slept there, my son got to sleep over, so our first night sleeping there was with our complete family. Rockhead, that kitchen is very functional for a family of 6. There is also a breakfast bar that I didn't really get a picture of but you can see part of it in the pic of the Dining Entrance. A-train, the grass hadn't been watered in about a week because of all the work we had to do to finish up. That Floretam really is resilient. MadMax, dinner will be at about 6:00 tonight...I'm thinking Lasagna... Raven, the dining room is actually a 12X12 octagon, and the angled pantry and octagon island go with the lines perfectly...plus that pantry is HUGE!!! Super Mario, intereste in some satin nickel doorknobs? Pole, actually, those cabinets above the range are functional since the builder did not set up the exhaust pipe. The vent is set to recirculate the filtered air. That will be changed after we unpack and I can get down to Home Depot.
Man....that's weird. That's going to put undue stress on the hinges then because the weight of the door will pull it down when you open them.
Maybe, but they are so high that I am the only one that can reach them...they won't get a lot of traffic... maybe I'll use that area as my secret hiding space... ...Maybe put the "Good" liquor up there...
Actually it was at 7:00. My mom hasn't changed the time on her camera. Yeah, I saw that. Somebody is finishing up a house across the street.
Congrats, you should be very proud. Are you in Houston? If so how bout scheduling a BBS house warming party so we can bring a bunch of stuff that you'll probably never use!
I'm actually in Brownsville, but I'll give you all my mailing address and you can mail me money tree or stuff I'll never use. I'll send out thank you notes via the bbs. A bbs housewarming party sure would have been cool though.
