I had my feelings that this was not a playoff team much earlier in the season. The Rockets were 13-9. They were in sixth place in the west, and tied with San Antonio. They then went on to severely underestimate the Denver Nuggets. They fell behind early, and their comeback was not enough. They lost 102-100. That was the start of that 6 game losing streak. It allowed Dallas and the rest of the Rockets' competitors to break away from them in the standings. Despite their 16-4 run, the Rockets were playing catchup the entire season. That loss defines the season for me. A comeback that just fell short. It was a bad sign of things to come. Now the Rockets need a miracle. A 10-0 run. I still believe! We are 3.5 games back of the Puppies right now. We HOPEFULLY beat the Wizards and Nets. Hopefully the Kings and the Blazers beat the Puppies. By Sunday night Minnesota can be 42-31 and we can be 41-33. That is only 1.5 games back with 7 games still remaining. The Puppies still go on to play Port, Pho, Lak, Lak, Utah, Houston and Mavs! That season was a nightmare. Does anyone remember the Houston-Utah game nearly two years ago on April 1st? The Rockets were up 15 in the fourth, and lost at the buzzer. They dropped to 22-10, and ended up going only 9-9 after that. Had they won that game, they would have been second in the west, and would have had momentum for the rest of the season.
