Check out this Francis quote from ESPN.com Quote o' the day "Everybody came out to see the Lakers. I know they came out to see them. I know they were shocked we beat them. Sorry if you wasted your money." -- Houston's Steve Francis after beating the Lakers. This really bums me out. Sounds like Francis is dejected about the low attendance too. "Sorry if you wasted your money?" Have you ever heard anyone apologize about fans wasting money after beating the champs at home?!? When we were walking out of the game, I commented to my buddy, "that game was DEFINITELY worth the $50 bucks".
You are mitaken, Francis said he thought that there was probably a lot of people that came out to see the Lakers and that it was just kind of a sweet revenge that the rockets spoiled these fakerz fans night. Please dont take something out of context. ------------------ www.truebballfansite.homestead.com
i didnt mean to take a shot at you i didnt mean you made it up but ESPN did take that comment out of context because the chronicle had that same quote but without the harshness that ESPN i believe added to it. Francis was just saying he's glad the non rockets fans didnt get what they came out for, a lakers win. ------------------ www.truebballfansite.homestead.com
C'mon Steve show some class ------------------ I'm not the type to eat it up but the type to hit it raw dog and seed it up.
I think Steve was very classy in his statement. ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
Steve was right, a lot of Lakers fans in Houston went to the game to see their team beat us. Making the upset even sweeter. ------------------ MOO atheistalliance.org
b**** ------------------ "You look a team that's been to the mountaintop like the Houston Rockets, I'm going to put pressure on myself to be the best possible player that I can be. With the pieces they already have in place and myself, we can do some amazing things next season." Maurice Taylor [This message has been edited by Francis3 (edited November 08, 2000).]

No, Steve Francis is who Im talking about. Thats a very dumb comment to make. ------------------ "You look a team that's been to the mountaintop like the Houston Rockets, I'm going to put pressure on myself to be the best possible player that I can be. With the pieces they already have in place and myself, we can do some amazing things next season." Maurice Taylor
I'd be pissed if the only crowd that looked better than a high school game consisted of a lot of Laker fans. I totally agree with Steve on this one. It's time the "fans" of Houston learn to support their teams through good times and bad. Another reason to trade Francis for Dickerson. ------------------ "I know how hard it is to put food on your family." George W. Bush
I, for one, like the comment. He just took a little jab at the Laker fans in OUR arena! You go Steve. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
And at the same time, a little tongue in cheek reference to the fact that there were enough Laker fans (or lack of Rocket fans)there that he actually noticed. ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
He didn't say for those Laker fans that came out. He said "Everybody came out to see the Lakers". That sounds like he was dissing everyone that came out to the Compaq Center to me. Which is not how you get your fans to come watch you. ------------------
