Damn, that is a tough stretch. Althought, even if we lose 4 in a row starting with San Antonio, we should be able to beat the Blazers, Sonics, and Clippers. So that will be some relief.
I'm writing in an L for one of the Sacramento games*, other than that the Nov. schedule looks great! * - just trying to manage my expectations, I'm sure the Rockets can beat Sac twice.
West coast roadies suck hard... Sacramento and Portland back to back? Ouch... When is our first "four games in five days" stretch?
Why couldn't the Rockets win those games on the road? The Blazers are playing horrible right now, the Clippers are 0-3, and the Sonics got blasted on their homecourt the other night by the Jazz.
The Blazers are still more talented than us, the Clips barely lost here and play really well at home, and the Sonics have the Glove, Barry and Lewis. It is just we can get burried in the West if we have a long losing streak and such a streach of tough road games combined with tough home games can be really disheartening. It will be a real test and I don't know if I am ready to find out how good we are this quick in the season... I like beating ATL and LAC at home...
Why not San Antonio? We've already beat them twice, although it was in the pre-season. We can beat all of those teams. I don't expect us to sweep the trip, but damnit, we can win those games. In Stevie I trust.
I am not saying we will lose these games but you have to admit that it will be impossible to come out of this streach with only 1 or 2 losses.... I want the Rox to be like the Lakers and win at least 60 games...
If we go .500 on that trip, thats a good trip for anyone. Isaw Sac blast SA and Dallas won without Dirk. Baker looks good and La, is La with shaq and Kobe. 4-4 on that trip will be great i think.
I say the rockets cement themselves as a western playoff caliber team and go 5-3 to make their record be 10-5 after fifteen games.
With the exception of the Lakers, I think that all of those games are very win-able. The boldest prediction out of that whole schedule is obviously 11-0. My prediction is 7-4. None of them will be easy though. The only easy wins I see are against Denver and Philly (if Iverson isn't playing that is).
The Clippers barely lost in Houston, but they still lost. And they're 0-3. Portland is talented, but they just got blown out by Golden State so they're not unbeatable. Portland may be more talented, but talent doesn't always equal wins. And Seattle is an on again off again young team that just got pounded convincingly on their own homecourt. Everyone of those games are winnable, and if the Rockets come together early enough in that stretch they can easily come out of there 7-4, which is a pretty good.
I don't see that Portland is more talented. Bigger, yes. Stronger yes, but talent is the rockets forte.
Sounds like we will go 7-4 or better. These are the teams we had the most trouble with last year....I think our dose of reality will coming in the next 2 weeks...Either 1)we are for real, 2)we hang in there or 3)we better panic...7-4 to me is (1)we are for real...
I think the drockets will beat the Lakers at home. We played them well last season at home. I'm pretty sure we beat them at home, and we are even better this year!
