The other day I read this article about how miserable the Clipper organization is .... it made me realize how lucky we are and how much some people take it for granted , it has made me realize that this organization and this owner has tried their best to make us into contenders every year , it has made me realize that we cannot take them for granted , it has made me realize that they must stay ! even if we did get lucky (wish we wouldn't) and get another NBA franchise why would we want to loose the one we currently have ? why would we give up on such a good thing ? it just doesn't make sense.

Just take a look around the NBA for a minute , take a look at some of the bottom duelers and how long they have been there and how much longer they will be there . What happened to us this yr. is more of an exeption not the rule. Let's be realistic , we all knew it was bound to happen we all knew Hakeem days as the premier center of the NBA was comming to a close we all knew that CB was going to retire and we all knew that eventually we would fall but did we know that we were going to pick up a major piece of our future on the way to the lottery ? HELL NO ! but we have not just one but 3(Please Cat don't go ) Francis , Cuttino and Anderson . The first 3 stones have been layed in place , the first 3 stones to the championship are there we just need to add to it and before we know it the HOUSTON ROCKETS will prevail once again.

At this moment time is our friend , time is what we need , time to jell , time to build that chemistry that makes the game look like a work of art instead of a game , time to practice on the things that were missed before , time to build mental toughness , time to think , time for Rudy T. to come up with more plays , time for Francis , Cat to develop that mid-range jumper to perfection , time for them to just get their energy back up and get ready to do it all over again and this time with a better knowlege of what they are doing and more importantly time to heal....

Some may say our time has past us by but the truth is that our time is just beginning. Our young team will be back ready to show everyone that the last month flurry was not a accidental, it was because we started to flourish and started to become ONE, a team, more importantly a basketball team in every sense of the word.

    What now?

    more 3pointers!!

Well said. I'm ready for some growing pains. This is Steve, Cuttino and Shandon's team. I will go insane for any championship that wins the title via building the leagues best defense around these 3 and solid rebounding to get that fast breaking going. I love the Clutch Extra that reminds us three athletic college stars where passed over by drafting KT and they got Ds from ESPN and likely will be out of the league. A championship via blockbuster trades because Duncan or some other stud is bored and wants to leave town, is something I'm not going to turn down, but I know a championship is so much more thrilling when built from foundation of homegrown stars (SF, SA, CM) and immeasurable chemistry. I contend, we can win with this group over time, and I don't need a Dreamcast to convince me to go buy tickets.

I'd love to continue this thread by talking about how outstanding defense and rebounding from a frontline that can beat the one-on-one and hit the open J is all we need, because the defense will take our fastbreak to another level. I fear your "cheerish the building of a champion" speech will be lost on the instant gratification joystick crowd, and our next post in this thread will be yet another,

"I agree, but the puzzle isn't complete...what do you think of this:

    MacBeth
    Othello
    Cats
    Midsummer Nights Dream
    The Franchise

Yes we are lucky ! The Rox moving would be our undoing not Les so how can you even state what you did ? Les is a business man and a good business man would not allow a product that he puts out on the floor to be wasted in such a way when he knows he can do so much better . If the rox move is not because of greed or Les wanting out , it would be because of our piss poor judgement and our piss poor sportsmanship and loyalty to the only team that has brought a championship home...

Look at the Astros , we gave them a new building to play in and just look at their record , look at what they did .. they got rid of some good players even though we showed some major commitment to them they backstabbed us and they are getting what they deserve. With Les Alexander's proving winning record do you think he would do that to us ? my answer to that question is HELL NO ! he hasn't and he won't he is too much of a winner to do something like that.

It is that attitude your showing that can cost us this team , you sound as if you already gave up... Props to Jeff and many others for not showing that kind of attitude . Let's face it this organization is a first class organization , Les knows it and so does the whole front office so if they cannot get what they want here there are plenty of cities that aren't stupid and know what a good thing we have going on here and they want a piece of it .. they would be stupid not to but aparently our city government and the Harris county people have their head stuck so far up their ass and are too freaking busy playing political favors to reasure their re-elections that they can cost us our team ..... its sad !

3, I have a positive attitude, I was just stating a fact. You paint a rosy picture from the court (couple of pieces and we get a championship), I was looking at the big picture. I hope the team is still in Houston to win those championships.

BobFinn , the big picture might be a question mark but we have to keep in mind that it is US who decide IF they stay or go , it is US who pressure them buttholes at the sports Authority to get Les what he needs because if we don't someone else definetly will , both you , I and the rest of the people with any kind of intelligence know that.

Thats True . Les Alexander would like to move the Rockets . But he wont , Why? you ask . For the same reason Rudy Tomjanovich
could not trade Dream to the Raptors .
